why do people breakup their relations??

this is maybe because the girl wasnt brave enough before to tell that she doesnt love your friend.. or maybe... she has some other reason she cant tell... 5 yrs of having on a relationship is not a joke and it will only take as long as 5 yrs if both of them are strong and love each other so much... but sometimes, there are situations that we only thought its unreasonable... i think the girl has a problem about someone.. or about anything that she doesnt want your friend to be innvolved... and that is why she used the alliby of loving someone else... hmp.. if i were your friend..i wont close my mind and think i will widely to fully understand the decission that his girlfriend has made. hope you got my point... :)

your was not able to convince his girl friend for five years. He is not able to understand her and her needs. She must have found better qualities in other guy and left him. So it is part and parcel of life. Ask your friend not to get depressed over this simple matter.

there are various reasons why couples break up with each other..common reasons are third party or falling out of love :)
