Do you tip better if the waiter or waitress is better looking?

I'll admit, I have overtipped waiters or waitresses because they were cute. But only if they were also nice and did a good job!
I tend to tip a lot anyway, because I think it's a very hard job, and most of the people who do it deserve a good tip. So unless someone does a very bad job, I'm likely going to give them a good tip anyway. But I have added an extra buck because the waiter/waitress was attractive to me. I guess that's really shallow, isn't it?

You're welcome. I am always truthful, because otherwise what's the point?
I realize I come off sounding really shallow here, but I would like to point out that I tip well for good service, whether the person is attractive or not. It's just that I might tip a bit extra if they are, without really meaning to be that way.
I did once give a very attractive waiter no tip at all, because he was rude to my husband and continually tried to flirt with me. I might like eye candy, but I don't like that kind of behavior!

I think this is quite sad.
It should be based on how they waiter for you and not based by looks or at least this is my opinion. I once gave an elderly women twenty pounds and that wasn't based on her looks, yet she was friendly, caring, nice and playful with my son and didn't look down upon my wife and I for being young.
Why tip based on looks? Just interested in thoughts..

I am sure that if the person is more attractive that is makes a better first impression, but i tip more if the person gave us great service. If I was a man, maybe this would be different for me, since they appreciate the visual better than I do.
On the other hand...
If an attractive male serves me and my girlfriends, it would be different than if he served me and my boyfriend. Their surely would be flirting going on with the girls I hang out with. He would get more from out group if he were attractive, or if he were charming at least. I can see where the looks may make a difference.
For the most part I definitely appreciate great service and tip better even if the person wasn't attractive and have even when the person was ugly and had horrible teeth. (eww) I think tipping is different every time I go out. It depends on who I am with and how the person was, and yes sometimes if they are attractive, but charm can help a tip get larger too.

The thing is that appearence is judged depending on where you are. Say you are at Ruby Tuesdays, nobody is going to care wither the waiter is hot or not when giveing the tip Although,If you went to Hootters and was giveing a tip, you would deffienatly give more a tip for the waitress being hot. That is because that is the whole point of hootters, for the waitresses to be hot.
I always pay more tip if the waiter asts more like the theam of the resturaunts. It encourages them to act the part for other tables.

Hi, this is an interesting question. It is a proven fact that we, as humans tend to respond to attractive things and people in general. I however, try not to judge a person by how they look. Beauty is skin deep in my opinion. How a person behaves is more important to me. As for tipping, I go by the service and attitude.

Yeah, I probably would. It would unconscious, too, I wouldn't be like, "Oh wow, they deserve 25% just for being that easy on the eyes". If their service sucked, then I wouldn't, because I notice the service more than the servers pecs.
I think that's kind of the premise for places like Hooters, or strip clubs, the servers are good looking to entice the patrons to stay, pay a little more out in tips just to be surrounded by good-looking people.
