Why does it end there?

Looking through the Bible, I noticed that all the stuff in the book is old stuff.
Why did the Bible end there. Shouldn't there be new stuff added all the time. there are people who hear God, and talk to Jesus, and in some cases God or Jesus talks to them, why isn't that in the Bible.
We've seen all kinds of miracles since the Bible was written. I know what the last page says in Revelations. that doesn't mean anything to me.
I think the Bible should be a living book expanding with peoples experiences.
Please explain why the Bible end where it does. Do you think the Bible should add new stuff? Or if not, why?

First off...if you take a look at the bible, it talks about the present tense. Where does it mention this? In the Torah where the laws were laid down. Because of that the early Christains kept those laws. But the early Catholics ruined it.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
So, to answer your question: no, nothing should be added to the Bible. The only way to get around that is to learn Hebrew so you can read the original instead of a translation of a translation.

Actually, regarding the last page in Revelations, Biblical scholars have proven that there are other books in the Bible (New Testament) that were written AFTER Revelations. It just happens that when the Bible was compiled, that Revelations was put as the last book. Also, there are religions, both Christian and non-Christian, that do believe that God does still speak to prophets today and their words are considered scripture.

If that is true, it would be nice to see new things like that in the Bible. I'heard about those books, There was one of Judas, One book of Mary, and I think there is 2 others. Thanx!

In my opinion, the bible was written at a time when nobody believed or knew God. The word was given to them through God to write down. The last page of the bible is very clear that nothing should be added or taken away from the bible. Also, with our faith, it is up to us to tell of the miracles that happen to us. And to be thankful daily for all His gifts. He is all around us. He's in everything. God bless you sugar.

You make a good point, Totty.
IMO, the Bible ends the way it does because whoever was in control thought it should be that way.
I'm sure there are still people who hear God, and there's no doubt that many life-lessons could be learned from the happenings between then and now.
Good discussion.

I'm starting to think the people who wrote the Bible, wanted to control their masses. What better way but make a book that comes from God. No one wants to dispute that.

What he wanted to tell, he already put in the Bible, since he is eternal he has nothing old or new to add. He knows everything and you too.
