I got My Rower!

Since joining Mylot back in March (I think!) I had one sole use for the Money I made here. That was to get the Rowing Machine I've been so desperate for.
Well, I'm proud to say I finally got it! I had to save up $200 for it, and there were times I thought I'd never make it. I made it to $179 and my partner decided he'd put the rest towards it - and rightly he should considering he'll be using it too:P
ANYWAY ... so last night, we headed on out and got it. It came flat pack and I insisted that I wouldn't need any help in putting it together. We got it home, I took one look at the instructions and said "Hon, I may need a little help here." LOL!
2 hours and lots of cursing later, we got it together. My partner asked if I was going to try it. I said "Ohh honey, I'm SO tired after all that, I'll wait till tomorrow." The look on his face was priceless!!
This morning, I tried it. It works a dream and I'm so so pleased that I didn't give in to the temptation to buy something else with the money I earned.
Many thanks to all my friends and fellow Mylotters here who gave me the motivation and the encouragement to not give up on my dream of losing weight and getting fitter.
This is just one more step towards doing the mountain hike we've got planned for this summer, and I'm sure I'll be ready in no time.
Thanks again guys. You mylotters are the best!

So congrats and enjoy yourself! ;-)

Congratulations! How wonderful that you were able to get what you wanted in a relatively short period of time. Also, I'm impressed with the idea of climbing a mountain. It's not something I would attempt to do, but I think it's great that you decided to do it and are smartly training for that event. Good luck to you!

Thank you wachit :o) I'm very proud of not giving in to the temptation to buy something else when I knew I was saving for the rowing machine lol. I hate when you're saving for something, but you see something else that you really want, and you have to make a choice.
Climbing the mountains here in BC isn't usually too bad. Some of the trails are long and steep, but they're for the most part, clearly marked.
The one we're attempting should take us around 3 to 4 hours there, and around 2 hours back down. The views from the peak are apparently, VERY impressive!

Thank you gabs hon. I'm very proud of my efforts :o)
Treats are definitely good, and I think now I've gotten the Rowing Machine I may try and earn enough that I can take the family out for Dinner once a month. I reckon too with the losing weight thing, I can afford to treat myself every now and again lol.

Hello lady. Glad to hear that you got your dream rower machine. Using our mylot earnings to save up for something is definitely worth our perseverance and hardwork here.
I haven't use any single cent of my earnings yet. Everything are literary safely tucked somewhere. I will be using a portion of it for my daughter's birthday.

Hi charms hon!
Thank you very much :o)
I totally agree that the perseverance and hard work is worth it. I felt such a sense of accomplishment when I got the machine home. Little did I know that the fun was just about to start LOL.
It sounds like you too have a plan for your earnings, and it sounds like your daughter is going to have a wonderful birthday indeed. Save me a small slice of birthday cake? :P

Thank you SO much Purple! I am so so pleased with myself lol, especially in light of thinking that I'd never make it.
I actually used it this morning for the first time, and ended up laughing hysterically at myself when I fell off! The seat stuck a little because it's new, and so I pushed backwards, the seat stayed put, and I went flying LOL. I laughed till I cried!
However, as it gets more use, I'm sure it'll loosen up some, or I can have my partner loosen up the wheels a little bit.
Thanks again :o)

I too have been in situations where I think something will take forever, and when the time finally comes you are so happy and proud of yourself that you never gave up. Again, good for you hun for sticking to your goal =)

Thank you Woodpigeon!
My partner was an absolute honey to kick in with the last $20, otherwise I'd have been waiting around an extra month to get the machine lol.
It was bugging me because everyday, I'd look at the picture online and know that I was so near, yet so far from getting it lol. Then my partner made a suggestion that he should chip in the last $20, and I'm so so happy he did :o)
The hike I'm definitely looking forward to. It'll be long and hard, because those trails do rise steeply lol, but what a sense of accomplishment at the peak!

Hey that's great news. I'm so proud of you. You are doing extremely well to earn that much. I'm only up to $60. I plan on saving till Christmas but don't know what I'll get with it yet. I have so many things that need fixing, I'd need to rob a bank to cover it all. LOL.

Thanks MsTickle.
I know what you mean about saving lol. We're saving like crazy for our Wedding next year. All we know so far is that it's going to cost a small fortune.
I'm very proud though of not giving in to temptation to buy something with the money I saved up. I have a wonderful sense of accomplishment of a job well done.
Now I just gotta figure out how to use the thing without falling off LOL.

Thank you SO much!
I've wanted the rower for a good long while, but thought I'd never get the money for it. Then a discovered mylot and another program, and although I didn't QUITE reach my full goal, my partner was kind enough to help out with the last $20.
It's thanks to you and other's like you here at Mylot that I didn't give up. All the time I've been posting, I was aware that I needed to keep going, and finally, I did it.
Thanks again :o)

Congratulations on earning enough, with a little from your partner, to get your rowing machine. I hope you stay motivated enough to use ti and get a lot of physical exercise from it. It will be so good for you. That was funny that you were too tired to try it out after finally getting it together. i do understnad where you are coming from. LOL

Thank you mama.
I have used it once already with hilarious results ( I fell off!) and I plan on using it a lot more. I had a lot of fun, and the sweat and out of breath thing at the end were well worth it.
I plan on having it on an easy setting till I feel I'm coping with that, and then gradually working up to harder and harder settings. The harder the setting, the more calories I burn.
Thanks again :o)

Congratulations!! Isn't it a great feeling to accomplish a set goal? I had to laugh...that at first you wanted to put the rower together yourself, and then read the instructions how and decided...oops think I need help here...and no wonder you didn't want to try it afterwards...that was exercise in itself putting it together--LOL Mmmm..I could stand to lose some weight myself..can I come over and use your rower?? :-)
