Can someone please explain to me why men turn into such babies when they get sick? It boggles my mind completely and I am in serious search for an answer. I've spent the last week sick along with my other half. He refuses to take cold medication because it taste "ucky" his words. He is misrable and is driving me nuts. I have started to get better while he still stays the same. Mainly because I've actually been taking stuff for it. I literally have to force him to take cold medication. I swear I feel like he's my third child. Ok am I the only woman who has gone through this?

we do it because we know that you love to take care of us. it soothes the mommy instinct. oh sure, i know you have children to take care of that, but you love the challenge. and knowing that your biggest boy needs you fills you with such joy. you thought it was selfish of us, didn't you. i'm glad i could open your eyes to our true motives.
p.s. don't tell my wife, but sometimes i pretend i'm sick just to make her feel loved and needed. aren't i a wonderful husband.

you are so not alone at all. My husband is the exact same way the only diffrence is he will actually take the medicine with No complaints. The problem is no matter what he does it takes him foreverto get better.

LOL! But didn't you know they suffer So much worse than us? I think it's maybe because when they were children, their Mothers spoilt them rotten when they were sick, so they cling to the belief that their woman will still spoil them rotten now!!! My man is a right pain in the **** when he is ill. Not long ago we both had a cold - I was off sick from work for one day - he managed to stay home for a whole week. Only my nagging that he could "do the vacuuming" if he was at home all day soon sent him scuttling back to the office though! So - no you are not the only woman to have gone though this!! Good luck!

My hubby isn't a baby when he is sick. He goes to bed and sleeps for hours upon hours. He does refuse to take medicine unless we have nyquil and then he drinks it like koolaide straight from the bottle! Yuck!

Maybe subconsciously men are looking for a way to be 'babied' without affecting their manly image?
My husband will take stuff when he gets sick. I will, too, but I have to hold my nose when I take it! Even when I take stuff for it, I STILL stay sicker than my better half for longer.

Haha, every single woman seems to complain about it in men. I am not like that, I don't turn into a baby when I feel sick. One day, I got home, and I was really bad, feeling dizzy and weak, all this kind of stuff. I just laid down on my bed and poof! I woke up with my mom calling me to go to Guitar School. She asked me if I was ok, and I said that I was just a little bad.
And in the other day, not very far away, I had the same problem. I came home from school, I was feeling bad. I told my mom: "I'm bad, I've got something strange, I'm really sleepy and stuff". Then, I laid down on my bed and slept. I also had Guitar School on that day, but I missed the class. In this day, I laid down and slept around 2 P.M. I woke up only at 11 A.M. in the other day. I was really bad.
But I think this kind of stuff is happening with me because of lack of sleep.
Anyway, I don't use to complain and act like a baby when I feel sick. If I have to take medicines, I do. Normally.

I was trying to figure out the same thing. The other day i went to school witha sore throat, fever, and cold but I put up with it. My friend who had acid reflux didnt show up to school for a month. Also, my boyfriend complains and complains and goes home sick from school if his stomach is a bit sore. I never understood it

Not at all. Men are babies for the simple fact that they are actually wimps. I mean, men are big and strong and have the muscles... but why do you think God didn't make them have babies. Women can take things a lot better than men can and they like to be pampered too, and sick time is any easy time to get away with wanting it without seeming too needy.
