Hi ckj,
Thanks for your message. You have a very pretty daughter. That comment comes from a man who is a grandfather and by now possibly a great grandfather. I spent over 30 years doing professional photography and much of it was children.
About the stamps,I am in contact with hundreds of collectors and stamp dealers every week. If you would email me a rough idea of the amount of stamps and a price you would like for them,I can pass this information along.
My email is: robert@packetsplus.com
Hope you have a wonderful day.
Bob

Hi,
It's not easy to value stamps without seeing them. One thing you might do,if you have a public library you can visit, they may have some stamp catalogues that will help you get some idea of the value.

I read your article and I was not suprised to see that no one had responded, no one collects stamps any more, at least not many , I remember all the time I was a child Mom and Dad would have stamps at the table , or strewn out accross the bed, we lived up in the Mountains and it would snow and us kids would just sit and watch , I loved the dedication, and respect my parents had for this hobby. the stamps are beauitiful, they would sit for hours ,cup of coffee in hand, Mom just recently got a hudge collection of the princess Diana serries, and Dad sent us kids the I think spirit of 76 , somthing like that, set of three, I just cant get into collecting I dont have the patience for it , it takes dedication. when my Mom gets her computer on line again I will have her go to your site, us kids are teaching her about the internet, ill just have to show my Dad he thinks the web is all silly but he would be interested in seeing what you have. Moms email is wildcathompson@yahoo.com

Hi shashonah,
You are the first to respond because I'm new here and my posting was less than 24 hours old. Thank you for reading it and responding. Happy to report that stamp collecting is still alive and kicking. Also surprising how many seniors (60+) are involved with the internet. Would like to invite your Mom and Dad to join us in our chat when they get the puter back up and running. We have people from the UK to Australia drop in. Not all is "stamp talk". Just general conversation among friends. Stamps are a great way to get out of the fast lane and relax a little, great stress remover. I'm usually in there at 4 PM Pacific time. Will miss the chat Tue June 19th,have to run down to Las Vegas for the day. Please join us sometime and be sure to bring your sense of humor. www.ipdaonline.org

Hi there,
I name is Khalid from Pakistan, I have been collecting now for over 22 years now with over 80000 stamps plus I have postcards, used envelops.
Yes, stamps collecting is now a very rare hobby in todays young generation but if u say that its dying, I wont agree. Look at me, for example, I live in a city of 1.6 million people with only 35 registered collectors, and not a single dealer/shop to get my supplies from , but still here I m , active as ever in meeting new people who collect stamps, and want to exchange with me.

Hi Shashonah, I see that you are also collecting postcards instead of stamps. I like both of them but I am looking for people who can exchange postcards with me. Interested?

Hi coolcat,
Thanks for your message. Although I'm a stamp dealer as well as a collector, the purpose of my message was to bring collectors together. So far we're getting a nice responce.
In the chat room I mentioned there are many collectors who are involved in trading. They also share a lot of information. You are welcome to drop by and check it out. Hope to see you there sometime.

Hi Khalid,
Nice to hear from you. I think a lot of stamp collectors have gone to the internet. I have been involved with internet stamp groupd since 2000 and have met many new friends around the world. If you would like to email your want list I have quite a few used GB from that time period. .
We would enjoy having you join our stamp chat at
You can have a breakfast chat while the people from GB on there are yawning and ready to go to bed. I really believe these worldwide chats are wonderful. I'm in the state of Nevada in the US so,the sun hasn't set here yet while I'm chatting. Looking forward to meeting you.
