What would you say is your most memorable experience in New York City, embarassing or otherwise?

I have a good friend whose husband spent every summer until he was 16, and 2 full years in New York. Everytime I've gone to New York I've tried to make sure he came with us, because he knows the city so well.
When he was living there, I took her to visit him. It was both of our first trip to The City. He took us all over the place. All kinds of flea market type set ups, which were a lot of fun, the top of the Empire State Building. And then to the Hard Rock Cafe. On the way to the Hard Rock, he kept telling us about the building and the big "Strudabaker" (that's exactly how he said it) sticking out above the entrance. I said it was probably a '57 Chevy. We "argued" about it until we got there, and when we did he asked the manager what the vehicle was... The manager confirmed that I was right.
He also kept going on about this huge display of memorabilia from the band Poison (my favorite band) and when we got there, the display was gone. He asked the server about it, and she said it had been moved to another restaurant, but that Bret Michaels ate there every Monday and sat at the same table. So he asked her to move us to that table, which she did.
It was a really cool experience.

Well, overall my most memorable moments will always be going and visiting Ground Zero and seeing the Statue of Liberty. To these they mean Freedom, and I just Love the confidence and feeling that New York City portrays. Great City to visit if you ask me.
Most Embarrassing would have to be having your picture taken with the Naked Cowboy. Yes, it is interesting seeing him, but when you have a picture taken of him he shows some Embarassing pictures as he makes you take a picture with him. But I am glad I seen him even if it was embarassing.

I have an embarrassing one. When I lived in NYC, I lived in Battery Park near the Statue, which got a lot of tourists on the weekends. One weekend, I decided I wanted to walk around downtown. I took a really long time to get ready and I thought I looked GREAT! Ha. So, out of my building I went. I noticed people looking at me, and I felt really confident about how I looked. When, thankfully, some girl walked up to me and told me I had a huge hole in the back of my pants! Ha! I put my purse behind me and walked right home!!

I lived in New York from 1971 to 1999. The most embarrassing thing to happen to my was being mugged, twice. My best experience is the hustling and bustling that goes on there. There are so many people that live in New York. I also consider New York a dangerous place to live especially in Manhattan. I hate the unsanitary conditions there. I was so disappointed when I came to live there with my mother. I am so happy where I am now, in the South. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. No offense.
