My 3 ferrets get into more mischief than any pet I've ever had. I was aware of their antics before I got them and most of the time I just feel like I have 3 small kids literally running around the apartment and I have to be behind them picking things up...lol...but they are like my kids and I don't mind.
One of the things they love to do is climb on my desk and knock over anything that is on it. I'm trying to make sure not to have my coffee or whatever I'm drinking on it but sometimes I don't get to it in time...lol...not only do they knock things over but they like to walk on my keyboard. If I can keep them from doing that I'll be happy.
Do you have pets that do something particular that gets you mad and you can't stop them from doing? Do you have friends or family with pets with bad habits? I love to hear pet stories...please share here.

LOL Where do I start. We have good size dogs. Dog #1 annoys me because he acts like he needs a special invite to do things. I will take all the dogs out at once. I will call out "who wants to go out" The other three dogs line up at the door but Dog #1 won't come unless you call him by his name. Its the same thing when it is time to come inside or time to eat. Dog #2 is a licker. He licks everything. Not just people but he will lick or pillow or bed as well. Then we have dog #3 who thinks that every time someone stands up she needs to go out. Doesn't matter if she was just out or not. Then we have Dog #4, he is a barker. If he wants another dog to move he will bark at them until they move. He will also bark at them if he thinks they have something he wants as well. And he doesn't stop barking if you tell him to stop. While I find each of these tendencies to be annoying there isn't anything I wouldn't do for my dogs. I couldn't imagine my life without them. I am sure that they find something annoying about me as well.

There's such a big difference between annoying and being cute isn't there? I personally like dog #1 and reading about him made me laugh. One of my ferrets is the same way. When I call them two of them will come and the other will wait for me to call his name. Their too funny! I wonder what I do that annoys them...hmmmm

Your dog is very cute and I like her when she lays down on top on you. She is a clever dog knowing how to wake up its master and showing her loving heart by linking the whole face. She must have given you a lot of fun. lol

my dog does this also. Sometimes she wants to go out, but sometimes she just wants me and my husband to get up and play with her. She lays on our chest and licks our faces. It normally doesn't bother me unless I am really tired and just want to sleep in. But sometimes it is annoying.

My cay (who truly is a sweetheart the rest of the time) has the bad tendency to destroy things (he likes to eat paper, cardboard and plastic, he has chewed on several of my books and has ripped off parts of our wallpaper in the hallway) and likes to attack feet by wrapping himself around them and biting.

We have a cat that likes to get into the cupboard while we are sleeping and tear holes in his bag of cat food. Even if we block it he still manages to get in. We make sure his bowl is filled all the time so that he doesn't have to tear the bag apart and make a mess, but he must like eating it that way because he ignores the food in the bowl and goes right for the bag. He also likes to spray as much cat litter on my floor as he can when he uses the litter box.

sometimes cats have the strangest ideas. It's probably the noise of the bag that he likes which is why I've started keeping my ferret food in one of those big folgers coffee containers. Their plastic and work out very well.

I used to have a pair of ferrets, and they were fun. Kept them in a cage in the barn, and fed them live mice. The female raised 2 young ones. This is rare I was told. WE used them to chase cottontail rabbits out of the hole in the winter. Rabbits are very scared of them. So are rats. Once a neighbor borrowed one to chase the rats out of his barn. The ferret rid his barn of rats right away, but the rats all went to his house. Once a ferret got out of the cage and went into the barnyard with the cows. When a cow sniffed the ferret, he grabbed hold of her nose, and the cow began to swing around, and around to get him to let go. When he finally got shook loose I picked him up and took him back to his cage. Those ferrets were as much fun as a Bag of Monkeys.

Yes, they are just like a barrel full of monkeys. Your right about the rats because some people in my building have mice and I'm the only one who doesn't and I believe it's because I have the ferrets.

My dog follows me around the house all day. Sometimes it's cute, most of the time it's annoying. Especially if I'm chasing my son to get shoes or something on him. The dog gets in the way.
He also is scared by heavy winds, and has to be on top of me whenever they occur.

It's funny the way some animals have a fear of different weather events isn't it? My ferrets are petrified of thunder....just like their mommy! lol...

my dog loves to run away with one pair of my slippers. maybe it's her way of making me run after her. it's annoying sometimes. but most of the time, it's funny. like when i stop chasing her, she'll look back at me and try and put the slippers down. but when i make a step, she bites it again and run around the yard with it. i just chase her and have fun with my dog. and when she gets tired, she'll sleep on the sleeper, her head on it. hehe. anne

It's funny when you don't know their coming and they pounce on your stomach. One of my ferrets is good at that too.

well, you wouldn't like my ferrets at all. When I bring up a basket of laundry from the dryer they like to get into the bottom of it and take a snooze!

Oh yes.....I have two Parakeets and they are as sweet as can be....until you lay down to take a nap.
They seem to hate it when you are trying to sleep and they turn into little noise makers.I'm not talking about the nice chatter or tweets they normaly do......but a full blown temper tantrum with feathers flying everywhere.
I have tried the towel over the cage.....but they know what I'm up to and do it anyways. So naps on the sofa are out of the question and even when I lay down in the bedroom with the door closed....I still need to turn on the fan to drown them out.

I love my doggie. She is a cocker spaniel and is two years old now. She doesn't do to much that annoys me, but the one thing she does do, is when I am trying to make my bed, she jumps up on the bed and won't get off the bed and I have to try to make the bed with her on it, which is very difficult. Then after I finally struggle to get it made she gets on top of the covers and rolls around and messes it up. Drives me nuts.

This is another thing my ferrets like to do. They love getting under blankets and when they see me making the bed they make a mad dive to get under the sheets. Doesn't make it very easy for me....

My youngest cat is 2 years old but still acts like a kitten.
Everything is his toy. When we bring home groceries or any shopping, he has to see every new thing brought into the house for a possible new toy.
He's cheap to entertain though, his favorite toy is the ring under the cap when you open a gallon of milk.
One of my older cats talks to the air. He just looks somewhere in the room or on a wall and starts talking, it's so strange.

thank you, I needed that laugh. I could picture your cat talking to the air. My ferrets also love the ring from under the milk cap. They play hockey with them.

I have to say my dogs crazy. When he gets in to playing he does what I call the zoom zoom. Its like he gets a sudden burst of energy and he starts to zoom around my house. He will do this for up to ten min.at a time. It reminds me of the dogs herding sheep. I saw a similar dog on u tube doing the same thing. If you laugh or try and stop him it seems to get worse.

My cats aren't that bad. The worst things they do is sometimes miaow to be let out when we are still asleep. Other times one of us will mistakenly lock them in a room and they will have an accident. It's the dogs that can drive us crazy. They bark when we come home, even if we only went out to the mail box. They bark when people walk by the garden gate. I never know if I need to check and see if there is someone there or not, beacause they bark at everything. The worst though is one dog gets bored and he licks his foot. It's this constant lick-lick-lick-lick-lick. It starts to drive me crazy after a point!

I have two daschunds, and they are truly my babies. But one of them has the awful habit of licking you in the mouth when you least expect it, and I can't make him stop no matter what I try. The other one, was abused by the previous owners, and the only bad thing about him is that when a man goes to pet him, he pees. I know this is something that he can't help, I am sure it is from being abused, it is just so sad, but also very annoying. Other than that, they are my spoiled babies, and I can live with their faults.

I think that one of the most annoying things that our dogs do is whine bout the weather. We have a German Shepard who gets upset about storms. He alerts you before the storm even hits. He runs around the house hopping on top of peoples laps. He tries to hide under or behind things. It wouldn't be so bad but he won't stay still.
Then of course we also have the dog that is a pack rat. He takes food out of the dog food dish and runs in to another room. Now if he ate the food that would be great but he doesn't. He stores the food for later or something. Its as if he figures his food supply is going to run out or something.

i have a japanese akita who is male and nearly nine, everyone well most people are very scared of him, but when ever any of us take out shoes off, he goes straight for our socks and takes them both of with his teeth, he does not bite of even nip, he is very careful of not hurting you, he loves it!, but if friends come to our house we tell them to leave their shoes on LOL.
the minute you get in the door from being out he is behind or infront waiting for you to take the shoes off!!
