How does MyLot work?

I've been paid $11.08 by MyLot. I'm up at $8.62, and hope to reach the $10 payout level again by the end of this month. Other users rate you + or - according to the quality of your post. When you reach 100 posts, you will get a star with a number on it (anywhere from 1 to 10) that shows the quality of your posts. That star can be improved. When I got my star, I had a 9. It is now a 10. The greater your star rating, the more MyLot pays you. Answers should be intelligent. You should strive to write more than one line so that people will rate you well. Also, try to avoid putting web addresses in answers unless it is the direct answer to someone's question. Don't spam other people's threads with information not relevant. Don't pick fights with people about anything - remember everyone rates everyone. When someone writes to you, write back, don't just ignore them. It really helps you if you pick topics you are extremely interested in and are not merely posting to make money. My star rating increased when I did that because my heart was really in it. The ones here longer than I could give you more tips. But that is what I base my success here on. When you do get paid, don't consider that the end of the game. Find a way to reinvest the money instead of spending it. Treat it like money seeds. When you find more paying opportunities and don't have as much time for MyLot, consider MyLot as a networking tool, and use the reputation you've built, in conjunction with things you put on your profile, to gather interest for the other things you are doing, remembering that the time you spend making contacts will pay a bit each time you post to someone.
