I am sitting here writing this and I feel so proud I could burst , My eldest granddaughter will be 18 in August and she went to her school prom on Friday night , My son and his wife hired a stretch limo for her and her boyfriend and another 3 friends and their boyfriends , She was so beautiful , she had on a voiolet coloured long dress full length and just one tiny strap over the one shoulder , she had a tiara necklace and ring all matching , her boyfriend was all in the full kilt outfit , I hope to get a copy of one of the pictures to let you all see it , she was so excited and when they came home they all sat chatting till 4 am , A great time was had by all , My daughter in law brought some of the pictures to church today and I was going round all of my friends ( it's a small church and I know them all well ) I was so proud showing off my beautiful granddaughter , time passes so quickly it seems like only yesterday she was off to school , she is going to university in August she wants to be an accountant xx

I can't wait to see a picture of her. Her dress sounds gorgeous....actually the whole ensemble sounds wonderful. My niece went to her prom in a limo too. I never got to see the dress she was in though. But I heard she looked so beautiful. My daughter will be a senior this next school year. And, God willing, she will hopefully do well enough in bringing her grades up so that she can go to her prom and graduate. And you can bet that I will have BUNCHES of pictures to share with everyone.

That's lovely weemam, I'm looking forward to seeing the photos.
My eldest grandson turned 18 this year. That was a shock as I'm only 55. It's aged me,I'm sure. LOL. My elder daughter is 37 and the other will be 36 in October. How strange to have children approaching 40!
I was a child myself when i had my 2 girls.

Awww weemam. You are blessed to have a great granddaughter. I don't know if I'm ready to be a grandma yet, LOL.
I agree that time pass by quickly. I only hope I can continue to stay solid on the ground and guide my girls through their growing up periods. Who knows, I might even have 100 granddaughters in the future, LOL.

I am so glad that she had a great time at her prom. I remember my prom and it was awful. My boyfriend waited until an hour before he was supposed to pick me up to tell me that he wasn't going to prom after all. Then my friend who we were going to meet up with that night, called and told me that she would pick me up to go to prom with her and her guy, but she never showed up. My father took me and dropped me off at the prom. I figured I has spent $150 on the tickets, $200 on my dress, etc. I was going to prom with or without my boyfriend. I went alone. I had fun, but it wasn't the same as it could have been.
I am glad that your granddaughter had a great prom and will be able to look back on it fondly.

Hello weemam
You make me want to cry. I never go to prom before, my school didn't want to made a prom for our graduation I mean a really prom, they just made a small graduation party. I am so sad about that. But I knew your feeling, I sang in front of my friend and other parents, and I am so proud with that, I knew that my parent so proud too.
That was a beautiful moment.
Time passes very fast, and we didn't recognize that people are grown up.
I can imagine how beautiful your granddaughter is, and she must be very happy, can spend her prom night with her boyfriend and her close friends.
God bless you

It seems that in this case, the school prom was a good time for them, & no disasterous results. It was also great that instead of one limo per "couple", a limo was shared by several, making things economically sound.

I don't blame you being proud. I am not a grandparent yet, but I have a 14 year old daughter. Her grandparents are verey proud of her.
Her violet dress sounds just beautiful.
My daughter had her year 7 graduation 18 months ago, so I have a while to wait for the high school prom.
You must have been vfery excited.

Oh weemam, I can feel your pride in your grand-daughter from the way you wrote about her - she is one lucky girl to have a grandma like you! You sound fit to burst! I am just dying to see a photo of Kayleigh and her boyfriend (especially since he is wearing the full kilt outfit), and her dress sounds awesome. Please send one soon as you can. My heart is full for you weemam.

This really is a special occasion, weemam, and I'm sure she looked very beautiful. They really go 'all out' for these events nowadays. I've always admired kilts too, and I'm sure her boyfriend looked very handsome. Don't forget to post a photo(s), when you're able.
