What makes you want (or not want) to see a particular film? The actors/actresses. the special effects, the plot?Withe overwhelming tactics of Hollywood to push a film on culture, what with fast-food tie-ins, toys, cotumes, all different types of promotional items,I find the baloney a little too much at times and just plain don't want to see a film because of the hype. What makes a film special enough to shell out the $10 for,in your opinion?

First of all I never go to the movies anymore- too expensive- I would rather wait till it comes out on video or PPV. So long as the movie is funny or scary - will love it.

I don't go much to the movies, I rather rent a movie which is much more easy due to the comfort of my own home.. I agree with you regarding the huge marketing & promotial campaigns surrounding the launch of a 'big' (read expensive investment) movie..

I find theatres uncomfortable and don't really go for sitting with all the strangers in the dark, I like my sofa ,too, lol.Right? When did movies become worthy of words like campaign and investment, I prefer films to be art. Thanks! :)

The actors involved, plot and genre are the things that pique my interest in movies. The previews, for me, only serve to make me decide whether or not to look up more info on the film.
