Do you open gifts slowly or tear into them?

There are all different kinds of people, some people like to carefully and lovingly open their presents, they like the anticipation and like to take their time opening up and unraveling what they have received. Some people like to "save the paper" as in the wrapping paper, so they're careful with that and don't tear.
And then there are the impatient ones, like me, who don't care about the paper or about who's around and are just dying to find out what's inside.
So how do you like to open your presents?
Slowly and with care, or like an animal, ha ha..

I open my presents very slowly~! It kills the audience! Hahaha.. They hate it when I do that, because they're the ones who can't wait to see what's inside. I do it more to 'torture' them rather than for myself. Actually I'm one of those people that keep the wrapping paper, that's why I open up my present carefully.. :P Nice discussion btw~!

It depends on the place and the person. If the person who gifted it is dear to me i tear it slowly and i even preserve the wrapper. If the person who gifted is beside when i open the gift, i open it slowly and vice versa when both the situations are the other way round.

It really depends. If it's pretty paper I will open it carefully because I could always use to for scraps or something in photo albums... but if it's really lame wrapper paper or if I don't need any of if I'm REALLY EXCITED, I RIP IT OPEN LIKE THERE IS NOOOO TOMORROW! :)

Oh, I am just a big kid at heart:-) I always wait until the appropriate day and have my first cup of tea then I sit down and read the card that is with the gift, and then I very carefully unwrap the gift. The paper from gifts from very special people and all the gift cards are kept.
Yes, yes, I do have a lot of them from down the years, but then not many people have cards their Gran wrote to them when they were a small child either, so hoarding has its pay off there.
Other paper is carefully opened and folded to be reused later (frugal living!)
Any packaging from the gift itself, such as bubble wrap etc is also put to one side for reusing.
Then, finally, I get to examine, smell, taste or wear my gift!
After all that I have another cup of tea and then either pick up the phone to thank the giver or write a thank you card.

I will first look for the opening where I can just remove the wrapper easily. Even though I do not preserve nor recycle the wrapper, I will still try to maintain the wrapper in one piece. I used the wrapper to wrap back the present. However, if the giver decide to give me a hard time opening the gift, I will just rip it open, no matter how nice the wrapper may be.

I usually open my presents quickly, but if I really like the wrapping paper, I might go more slowly so I can save more of it. :)

If I see that a gift is wrapped with love, thought and care, I'll open it slowly to appreciate the person who wrapped it because I wouldn't want to destroy the person's artwork! I constantly think of ways to present gifts beautifully and creatively, so I respect gift wrapping.
If it's hasty, rushed wrapping I'll still open it carefully but quickly just in case the gift is fragile.

I tear into my gifts!!! Because our elders have superstition that if you tear into them you'll get more presents to come. Besides, tearing into them is more exciting than slowly opening them, it gives me the high of knowing what's inside.

i tend to open them slowly without tearing them and even keeping the tape in tact. I don't know why but I guess I just try to enjoy the moment more rather than trying to save the paper, after all, it is not often that I do get presents, so when I do, I must savor the moment.

i tear the cover of the presents and dont take any care about the wrapper, coz they say that if you receive a gift open it and tear the wrapper so that there are so many gifts you might receive after that one..if that's true...

The presents I get are'nt normally wrapped, but when they are I tend to rip into them like an animal. I know some people like to save wrapping paper, but not me. I just want to get the prestent.
