I HATE not being able to edit our own posts!!!

I was just looking at my most recent discussion and found I had completely misspelled something.
I can't go back and edit it. Drives me crazy. I think if anything this is one feature myLot should seriously investigate giving us!! There are so many arguements on here that could be avoided if people could edit their posts. I know I have seen some that information is added later in the discussion that would much better serve everyone if it could be added to the original post!
So how many of you wish we could edit our posts?

I so agree and posted this idea months ago. I would love to be able to do this, AND the minute a post is flagged as a problem, it should be removed from reading until mylot clears it or deletes it. That would help as well.

Yeah this idea is far from new. I included it my wish list post. I just started this discussion out of frustration at my mistake.

Still sometimes you just don't catch the errors right away. As I said also sometimes you forget something or clarification needs to be added; as it is now we can't do anything about it.

I agree that sometimes further details may need to be added. It would be good to have an "edit" feature. Or "add details". Or something like that.

I hate that as well. Its usually such a simple and obvious feature in forums but Mylot doesnt allow it. I wonder why they don't. It just seems stupid. Mylot has a lot of quirky things like that with its features and lack thereof.

Yeah... You can say that again... I'd had a lot of my posts and responses which had wrong spelling in them and felt so helpless after posting them. I wish there is a way to edit those...

Yes, an edit button would be great. Since we don't have it in Mylot and I don't have Firefox as a browser (it has a spell checker) I always use the preview but typos still sneak in. If I do a long post I usually use Word, run it through the spell checker and then copy it into the Mylot answer box. A bit cumbersome but it works for me.

I certainly do , although I am pretty sure they would say, as far as misspellings go, that we should hit preview post, to see if we need to edit. I never do anymore, but probably should. As far as the rest of it goes, yes, I have had discussions where I would have liked to add something directly under my own post so that everyone would see it, but that is not an option, I think it would help me out a lot, though, to do so.

I totally agree with you. I get embarrassed when I hit the submit button and just as it is leaving I catch an error but it is too late.

Yes, personal editing of your own posts would be such an improvement....Until a few days ago...I had never been on another paid site....but a friend of mine recommended it and I tried it....they offer this valuable service...it is wonderful....I have learned to use spell check while on myLot...but it is time consuming...
If I could make one change this one would be high on my priority list, my friend....

haha - I was JUST thinking this to myself.
Anyone can use the preview to check their post but it's like proof reading your own paper right after you finish it. It's highly unlikely you will find all the mistakes because your mind is still in the spot where you wrote it in the first place!
I have always been the kind of person that goes back and fixes/clarifys what she wrote. Here I guess if it happens to a high degree I will simply have to explain myself in each reply.
Edit buttons are on every other forum I've been on - would it really throw the system off THAT much?

I definetly wish i could. im horrible when it comes to typing with like every work jumbled up. heres a tip..use FIREFOX instead of internet explorer. FIREFOX has a feature similar to microsoft work that edits your misspelling with a spell-check like feature. works wonder. without it..people wont be able to read my posts.

Drives me nuts too! I would often want to add a comment or a complimentary idea to what I originally posted. But once it’s posted its done! Sometimes I would just like to DELETE an irritating post that I started, because either I was half asleep posting it, or I realise the idea was really stupid.
But I guess the reason why MyLot has not introduced this feature yet is because it would really complicate the algorithm they use to calculate the money you earn for each post, because each post gets credited as an individual message etc

You can respond to your post and let people know what mistakes you made and edit them that way. I have spell checker and use it before I sent the post. Even with that I sometimes have some misspelled words go onto the post. The main thing is that your thoughts go through, I do not worry about someone else's spelling. As long as I know what they are thinking about.

YES and sometimes it is supposed to be directed to one person and ends up in the very wrong hands, oh how stupid do I feel and yes I try to read it over before I send but even then you sometimes make a mistake and wish you hadn't..lol

Yea, I agree definitely. Editing posts should be included so we could change the post if we had made a mistake. I am wondering why mylot guys haven't included it yet beacuse I see most of the similiar sites or forums had included that feature a long time ago.

I agree, sometimes we carry on thinking of the topic and realize thats theres so much we wanted to add or theres misspelled or whatever we are think we want to get back and we can't and or too late...Request for an edit if not hurting the posts or mylot please ;)
