What was the first piece of item you bought for your baby as a gift? Did you buy it your self or asked some other person to buy? what was your baby’s reaction when he/she got it? A smile, strange look, or what?
And the interesting part…What your baby did with the gift!!?
I just want to collect some ideas, so do share some other interesting gifts too that you didn't buy but liked:-)

Kamran, the first thing that was bought for my first son his father bought after we found out he was to be a boy. It was a bone china roller skate bank, Blue with white ties. My husband was so proud when he came home with it, it was wrapped by the store, and I still have the ribbon and wrapping paper it came in. Although this was not a toy the baby could play with, it was displayed through out my sons life in our home on his dresser amongst his baseball trophies. When my Sons, son was born almost two years ago, his father re wrapped it and gave it to our grandchild as a first gift from Pops. My son actually cried as did Nana.

I can not imagine what word you might not have known. I did not realize you were not native English until you told me just a few minutes ago in another post. You write eloquently and are very articulate.

Thanks! Angelwhispers! for your appreciation. It does help and gives me motivation to improve my language skills.
The word you added to my vocabulary is "Nana". I had to consult dictionary to know that it means grandmother!:-) You see how poor I still am..

Ah! Angelwhispers, It's nice to know that you have preserved the ribbon and wrapping paper that came with the gift. It seems that we have something in common as I too have preserved many things that were gifted to me whether or not I use them, with whole of their 'package' i.e. including wrapper etc. My family and friends, sometimes make fun of me for that:-)
We have another thing in common.lol. I bought a roller skate but never used it. My wife asked me why you are keeping it when you don't use it and I told her that perhaps my son will use it:-)
I hope your son's son will be proud of this gift when he is able to realize, how precious, actually, that gift is:-)
You have also added a word to my poor vocabulary and I am thankful for that too.
Thanks for sharing, Angelwhispers:-)
