Father's day is just an afterthought...

That's what my hubby says. He says it's not really a holiday, they just made it to not make father's feel bad, because they already have a mother's day. I told him it doesn't matter why they made it, it's important in our family. He was mostly kidding, but are there any fathers out there who feel this way. Or any one who thinks this way?

well, both have become very commercialised. in singapore, the media frenzy starts almost two months before Mother's day. And i know why your guy feels like his is an afterthought. cos when it comes around to fathers day, the media blitz is less, and the emotional blackmail to get your father something is less overwhelming too. perhaps fathers appear to do less thankless tasks. afterall , they get monetary rewards for working full time. stay at home mums are usually under-appreciated!
