AFI is airing their 100 Years...100 Movies Wednesday night. Where do you think Casablanca will land, number 1?Number 5? It is one of my favorites and I would rank it 2nd. Usual Suspects would be number one.

Well I'm probably going to be one of the few on here but personally it wouldn't even make the list if I was in charge. I fall asleep every time I try to watch it. I don't care for the movie and find it very boring. So for me it wouldn't be in the top anything rank let alone in the top 10.

Exactly. To each their own :) I'll be curious to see what they do have in this new list, if it's a new list and not just the old one redone.

Honestly, Casablanca is one of my favorite movies, but I would put it at number 2 or 3 instead of number 1. I would probably put "The Godfather" as number 1, with "Citizen Kane" at number 2. I loved "The Godfather" and thought that the mix of family dynamics with the action and suspense made it a great story. I loved Citizen Cane, mostly because it was more of a true story (even though Orson Wells denied it was about William Randolph Hearst) and that it was so dynamic regarding the truths and the realism of the story.

And Citizen Kane used great camea angles that weren't used before. It is a great epic.I can't wait to see what numbers The Godfather, Citizen Kane, and Casablanca are.

I think that Casablanca will be Number One. I know the Godfather would be a close contender if it was just left off to Godfather One and possibly Two, but the Third one would put it in at Two.

Number 1, because this movie has everything: romance, adventure, humor, war, social critic... a soundtrack that made history, world class actors even in little roles, and two great leads who display a chemistry, wow! I don't think that there aren't better movies -my favorite is "The Bridge over the River Kwai"- also I think that there are so many excellent movies that it would be best to classify them by genre, in order to do some kind of justice. But because of the forementioned reason: Casablanca is Nr.One :)

a top 5 rank is for sure...godfather does seem like a stronge competitor and other classics like gone with the wind and great expectations are also to be considered..
