Dear friends I know that there is singer in everybody's heart. Everybody likes to sing and render the songs of his/her choice. What about you .....do you love singing...and many of you would have sung in the functions, programmes etc, those who are well versed in singing. For those who regularly sing on a platform/programmes...I would like to hear their experiences and those who are amatueur I would also like to know about their experience and love for singing.
Thanks in advance.

i just love singing and listening to good music. i do sing, but for myself only. i am always on music when at home. i sing along and sometime dance. but that doesn't make me a good singer. i sing out my heart and love doing that. i know, i sing 'beshurili' but can catch others singing it with improper note instantly.
i know, you sing well and love listening to songs. keep it up. i feel, we need to be a good human to be a good artist! its very important indeed. the honesty and earnest emotions render the true spirit of the song.
have a great day.
PS: congratulations on your 1000th post.

I love singing. I do it all the time...around the house...at work...in the car - it doesn't matter where I'm at, I'll sing. Unfortunately for anyone who may be around, I'm not the greatest singer in the world but atleast I know the words (well, for the most part). lol
I have a crew of guys that I work with and I'm the leader of the pack. With the low pay and hard work, they tend to get down-in-the-dumps sometimes. So, I usually get them singing oldies songs, rap songs, anything easy to sing but popular enough to like and for them to know. That usually brings them to a more upbeat state-of-mind and they work a little faster as well.

I was a singer in a very prestigious choir here in our city for 4 years. Unfortunatly some of the others became envious and I was bounced out because everyone felt I got more attention at our concerts. I miss it though, I do sing daily however. To be honest, my singing voice is a cross between Amy Lee and Kelly Clarkson. I mention this without ego, because I haven't sung in front of people in years. I'd like too, but I don't know if it's to late to try that part of my life again.

I hate Kelly Clarkson ,the way she shouts all the time when she sings ,she sounds like she is trying to hit the high note and not very comfortable i might add!beginner singers here is some free advice,if you find yourself having to shout to sing a line in a song the song is in a key way too high for you and you are damaging your vocal cords!so stop!if you can sing "i wanna run to you" by Whitney Huston without shouting the high notes like a dying dog you are ready ok?

I can sing Deepak.-I used to sing film songs ever since the age of 4 or 5 I was asked to sing in front of all guests in a dinner hosted at my uncle’s place,[age 6 or7]
Second occasion was when my uncle made me sing for mike testing in his sister’s marriage, before the professional singer arrived. ; then I was 13 years old; it was in a village [named Srirangam in Trichy], TamilNadu] and the street urchins were my audience for whom I sang 11 film songs]
. I used to sing in my school days and college days. , entertain all my friends and was also the first to lead in a group song. I was totally ignorant of classical music but after marriage, I learnt this [my father-in-law knows to sing very well, husband and sisters-in-law know and my husband encouraged me to learn music at the age of 26.]I have a good ear for music and so I could start from scratch after 26 and learn classical music. I was also fortunate to be taught under a professional. Later, it also happened that I got a large number of students for my own classes. It was fun.
But alas, my music classes stopped with increasing repetitive throat infection caused by voice abuse [my English classes/music/incessant chatting with friends-this forced me to make my choices and I chose my teaching English to students instead of music where I had to adjust my pitch according to the student and this was supposed to be the major culprit in the cause of the infection].So, there ended my coaching sessions. But, till date I do sing and my all time favorites are film songs, though on special occasions I sing classical too.
Hope you were patient enough to read the story. You asked for it because you did not know that you are going to get a big Mahabharatha!

Alas! I do not have a choice to mark the best response again. Yours stand the best one of all.
I read your story patiently and honestly speaking I enjoyed reading it. It is great to know that you are a good and trained singer and you can sing well and you worked very hard to achieve it. Singing is an art and the one like you, who have mastered it can mesmarise many people. I understand that you would have got a ver sweet and melodious voice and if I get an opportunity, I would like to hear your song(s).
I too love singing and would sing in my school and college competions. I did not have any formal training but I was quick to catch the music and tune. However, now a days, if I make an attempt to sing in my home, my better half and kids start laughing..........."Papa kya ga rahay ho......."....LOL!

Hello deepak! I love to sing. But sad to say, I haven't experienced singing on a platform yet. I don't know why, maybe people on my place are deaf because they weren't able to discover me or that they weren't even invited me to sing in some various occassions. I wonder why?
I think I have a good voicehehehehe..

Hello! Aisa!
I do believe that you have a very good voice, had you been in my city, I would have arranged a concert for you to sing in an auditorium. I hope when you are alone, you keep singing in your home or even bathroom is a safer place to sing.
Many thanks for responding to such an old discussion of mine.

The only time that I have ever sung in front of an audience was when I was in high school. I was in the choir, and usually we would sing as a group. But we decided, for a special show for the church members and the parents, that we would all sing a special solo. I literally had to compete against another choir member for the song I wanted, and I ended up winning (it wasn't in front of anyone but the choir, but it was still a competition). When I sang in front of the audience, I was so nervous! But I ended up singing the song perfectly, and I even ended up getting a standing ovation! It was an awesome experience.

I hope you can remember this discussion - 2 years old! I am an accomplished bathroom singer only and never tried my unborn talent in public. I wouldn't dare to let people hear my frog like vocal tone. LOL. I like to listen to others singing but unfortunately I am not gifted with this talent.

Hello! Aleg!
I can recall my old discussion. Please do not tell me that you have frog like vocal tone, I just cannot believe it. I do believe that you have a very good voice and you can sing very well. I hope when you are alone and you are in a good mood you do sing few lines of your favourite songs and even singing your own bathroom is not a bad bargain.
Many thanks for responding to such an old discussion of mine.
