Do you say "take care" when somebody leaves?

For me, it just comes automatic to say "take care" when somebody leaves as I don't want any harm to be inflicted on the person leaving. When I say it, I do mean it. How about you, does it also come automatically for you? Is it not part of your culture?

yea sometimes I say "take care" but when it comes to close friends/family I dont say it often simply becuase to me its like saying "goodbye" which is the same as implying you wont see that person for a long time to come...I do say it with strangers though...but with a friend I usually say "drive safe" or somehting along those lines..

Hello,imday312saylon,when my close friends are leaving, most of the time,i will say take care with a goodbye kiss probably,i think it is good to do this,it just shows you do really care about your friends and strengthen the bonds of the friendship. It is part of my culture and comes automaticaly from me.

Same here. My default signature on all my mails are "bye take care", I mean what I say.

If I'm writing an e-mail, commenting on someone's personal website, saying bye to someone through some sort of messenger, I'll say take care.
In person, I use the substitution "be careful" as a closer.
