Wow that's a tough one. Actually I'm confused right now. Do I love a person because I need her or does needing her makes me love her. I think when you love a person its second nature to need her. To long for her company and to seek for her love. When you need a person, it doesn't necessarily follow that you love that person. I think the first statement is more true. What about you? What's your opinion regarding this?

I would say I need you because I love you...
There are so many people in life that we need, but we don't have to love them all. Plus to love someone because you need him is like saying once I find another one that can help me better I'll leave you..
Yet when you love someone, you need him/her because he/she will become everything to you. You won't be able to live without him/her..
Thanks for the nice topic.

The former statement signifies anarcissistic kind of love.Loving a person just because you need him/her is the most common type of a person who used and abused his/her lover.Unlike with the latter statement, it signifies need that you can't live without because you love the person. It is the second level of pyramid in Maslow's hierarchy of needs, that is LOVE AND BELONGINGNESS.
An Example scenario of the first Statement:
The man loves the woman so much because she is giving gifts and money to the man. When when the woman can't give money anymore, the man dumps the woman("I LOVE YOU BECAUSE I NEED YOU"(NEED YOUR MONEY AND GIFTS????) HUH!!!
The Second Statement:
The man loves the woman without any reason at all, whenever she is with him, he fells happy, he feels loved, he gets excited and he feels complete, just seeing the woman and being with her without doing anything to him like giving money, gifts etc.
That's the big difference of the two...Spot which are you fitting in this scenario LOL!

isn't it i love because i need you and i need you because i love you?
i need you because i love you is "LOVE" because the person is telling you that he/she wants you to be in his/her life because she/he loves you and needs you because he/she can't live without your love..
before i fell in love,i thought those just meant the same meaning but i've realized their difference..
i love you bec i need you is the one that takes advantage of the person..he tells you that he loves you bec of the fact that he needs you not your love..

I preferred to hear the words "i love you because i need you". A man loves you because he needs you and that's all that matters. WoW! that's quite sweet and nice to hear.
