if you want to lol but I had to do this
I went to the Shops earlier and while I was ion the Shop it started to poor down with the Rain, as I was paying for my Goods I heard the Dog that was tied up outside cry like mad. I went out and I sat there with the Umbrella over the poor Dog and she calmed down
I was talking to her and calming her down. When her owner came out who I had seen at the back of the queue an old Gentleman, he smiled at me and said she is a bit scared of the Rain and he said he would have never thought to see the Day a Person will sit with a Dog holding the Umbrella over the Dog and calm her
He thanked me for doing that as he had been concerned about her
I gave the Dog a kiss on the head and then went home
I could not leave her there crying she was so scared as it was really pouring down and my Heart went out to her.
Mind you Gissi was not happy smelling another dog on me lol
Would you have done this or do you think I was crazy doing it lol
I don't care if you do think I was crazy I would do it again and again

Well, I must be crazy too, because I have done exactly the same thing before. I think you are either a dog lover or not and if you are there is NO alternative, even if you get soaked yourself, is there? This post really cheered me up and reassured me that there is still a lot of good left in the world. Thank you.

Well, I think you took a chance putting your face near a dog you didn't know. What amazes me is that we are supposed to be a nation of dog lovers yet big stores do not have a covered area for doggie parking.
You do see some small shops which actually provide a drinking bowl for thirsty dogs and I find that so thoughtful.

I personally would not have done that these days because of the kids but you are not crazy for helping an animal. I have a question will you come and live here so that when my cat gets out I have someone who can chase him.. I am getting to big and to slow to go out and get him and he thinks it is a game to run out the door. You are a very kind hearted person and I love that you help animals in little ways that most people would think to.

Oh Gabs that is really sweet of you. I would have done in a heartbeat. And I dont think your crazy at all for doing it. You have a soft spot in your heart for animals and I do too. Oh poor Gissi must have been alittle jealous. My cats do the same thing when Im around other animals.

Bless you. I think that was such a kind act.
I would like to think i would also do this but I must admit I am a little wary of dogs I do not know. I know my dog could become hostile when scared, and does not appreciate strangers aproaching her in such situations, so I would extend that to other dogs.
You truely are a special person. xxx

Sweetie I took a risk there it never dawned on me till later when I got home that the dog could have gone for me as I think Gissi might have gone for a Stranger to
I guess at the time I did not care she was in such distress I just needed to comfort her

Oh that was so sweet of you...poor thing being scared like that...and no you're not insane as I would have done the same thing...I know how terrified pets can be with storms..I have one cat, Kissy, who even at the first sounds of a rainstorm will make a bee-line under my bed...and she's indoors!! So I can imagine how terrified that dog was---you have a real kind heart Gabs!!

I don't think you're crazy although you could have been bitten. I often talk to upset doggies outside shops, take injured anythings home and rescue snails, worms etc.
I told you the other day about how I rescued a little worm swimming for his life in the puddle near my front gate, it didn't take a second to fidh it out and pop it onto an earthy bit of garden.
I have no idea why people do not seem to have time or think themselves more important than other living things.
What you did was really sweet, don't ever change.

No, Lucy Laptop is poorly and has to have an operation tomorrow, goodness knows how she's working at all really. She has to have new keyboard, fascias, hand rests, hinge covers etc, this is due to the factory forgetting to put the last 4 screws in so the screen has never been properly supported.
Luckily for Lucy Laptop she will be better than ever and all the letters should work properly for the first time.
Hope you're having fun, sorry didn't get chance to ring you back, gotta go now, Shreks working at a school tomorrow and I have to find his "clean and tidy" workstuff for fitting air conditioning.
Nighty-night - big hugs.

Crazy? No way! You did what I would expect you to do!
As I've said before - and so have others - you are a very caring person. Anyone or anything that is hurting will grab your attention and receive your love. You couldn't do anything but what you did. That is why we all love you so much.

You probably already know my answer but here it is anyway. Yes, I definitely would have done the same thing. I can't stand to hear animals crying like that, and I will do anything in my power to calm them down. I have even held Buddy, my BIG dog, on my lap when the fireworks have been going off at the neighbors. And he is definitely WAY too big to be a lap dog. At the same time, we kept a little scared dog with us that had gotten out of it's yard and he was too scared to leave. So he got a good meal and a comfy bed for the night until his owners came looking for him. Truth be told, I would have kept him if the owner hadn't shown up, because he was so darned cute.

that was so sweet! You are such a kind person. I am pretty sure I would have done the same thing. We most often get so caught up in our daily lives that we don't pay attention to waht is around us. Thank goodness you do not do that! That dog was really lucky to find a friend in you!

Well I just could not leave her I was rushing out of the Shop as I could hear how distressed she was
I thought at first that she had hurt herself but once I sat with her and the Umbrella she was ok
I know I took a risk as she could have been a vicious dog but at the time I did not think of that
The owner was so grateful lol I will never walk away from a distressed Animal

I don't blame you and I honestly don't think I could either. I am glad that the dog was ok and everything turned out fine. I know it is worrisome when you happen across an animal in distress and you don't know if the animal is going to be gentle or bite you! I wouldn't have worried to much on that either.

Hi, Gabs! I don't know what I'd have done in your place. I mean, I don't like pets, specially dogs. But then, I also hate seeing anything/anyone suffering. So I think I could do the same, except for the kissing part in the end. Hehehe! Cheers, sweetie!

You are very kind-hearted to animals, you are not insane. I'm glad you were there to show love to the dog. I hope she thinks of you in times of need when she needs to feel emotionally strong.
I used to take animals to the RSPCA to the dismay of some people.
Yes to answer your question if I would have done the same thing. Lots of love to you.

Bravo, I think you are awesome. I would have done the same, and I think that the owner should have sat in the storm instead, poor dog.

I'm the same Gabs. I don't think you're crazy. Well, maybe a bit but that's what I love about you. It's not many people who will go out of their way to help a frightened animal and yet I have met many here at Mylot who have big, kind, friendly hearts. God bless you sweety.

Your not crazy, you simply love dogs. I think what you did was wonderful. I only wish I would have thought to do the same thing. I have recently seen leashes with umbrella's attached. My Cocker isn't afraid of the rain. She just refuses to go out in it. We think she thinks she is too good for that. Our poodle though, loves the rain.He is a typical little boy. He just loves to play in puddles.
