is it really necessary to thank when we get a best response? or do you feel it's a kind of showing off when someone thanks you for giving them best response as they are pojectng themselves as being very humble or polite? i just feel kind of rude when i don't do this after getting a BR. on the other hand i wouldn't mind if someone doesn't thank me when i chose his/her reply for best response. but for me it's also true that i find it nice when they do thank me:) but i m wondering these if it's really necessary to thank them... especially after reading on some discussions that some people actually don't appeciate it when people thank them for best response especially on their old discussions as it kind of opens up them again for the discussion though they have already resolved them! maybe they don't find it necessary at all!:*) and it is just annoying... so what do you think about it? tell me do you thank people after getting a best response? do you expect others to do so? how do you feel when someone thanks you? or you feel there's just no need for doing something like this? i m really curious to know that:)

It's fine either way, really. Just do whatever you want. Right now though, I would think it is "safer" to say thanks. The BR roll back glitch is quite widespread and saying thanks may get you the rightful BR when the glitch occurs for the nth time. Up to you.

Hello kaplya. Since the day I got my first best response, I never thank any posters who awarded me. I really don't know if it will be appreciated or not. I hope no one will be offended by my action though. On the other hand, there are some posters who will expressed their gratitude for the best responses I gave them. Whether they thank me or not, it doesn't matter to me.

As far as I think, one cannot force anybody for anything, and more so when it comes to thanks giving. So if anybody feels like thanking you, its fine and if not then one can't help. When someone marks my response as best response, I surely do go back to thank that person. It happens that I may miss out a couple of them if I haven't logged on to mylot for long!

I always say thank you for marking me best response. I feel it shows a bit of respect for the person who started the discussion. When I respond to discussions, I try to give quality responses and I feel honored when marked best response, therefore, I thank them.

How does one know when they get a best response vote. I have given them to people but do they know. Maybe I got one and I dont' know it? I think it is okay to say thank you for a best response if people want to but not necessary. I also dont' think you have to comment back to every comment someone posts to you. Do you?

hi CoffeeAnyone, you can check your best respnses through the method Gardengrrl has given here:) i think one should try to comment on the post one gets in his/her discussion because this way you make sure that you have read them also we are here for discussion plus money and this way we could discuss our problem or views.. and thanx a lot to you gardengrrl for clearing this out to her:)

most of the time i thank someone for giving me best response. it's the nicest way of showing my gratitude to them. on the other hand, when someone is thanking me for marking him/her the best response i feel happy of course and i tell him/her that he/she really deserves it.

I usually don't thank people for best responses, and have never gotten a thank you for any I have given. I neither expect it, nor think it is neccessary.

If I like to be thanked then I should also thank others, how come I did not think of it earlier, maybe because I have not received any thanks. Anyway, thank you for reminding me, I will now onwards thank those who have chosen my response as best.

Well I'm really new so I guess I don't have much room to talk about it yet, but I think that saying thank you for something like isn't inappropriate. On the other hand, I don't think it's necessary, because most people probably don't even think about it.

Personally I Love to go in and Read back the comments people post to my discussions, and when I choose one for Best Response and someone chooses to respond back to it Thanking me, it makes me feel as if it was all worth while. I know I have been trying to make a habit at least once a week and go in and Thank anyone who has recently chosen a discussion I have responded too with a Best Response. This helps my day really more worth while.

I think it is Polite to say Thank you but if they haven't responded with a comment I feel kinda funny / wrong and think should I or not????? I usually do even if months later down the track... When anybody responds to my responses I feel valid and as though they truely do care and shows that they take the time to go over their respnses left in others discussions too...

I dont know if it is necessary or not, but I would feel rude if I did not thank them for giving me best response. And its nice to get thanked back when I choose a best response but I wouldnt mind either if they didnt.

I don't think it's necessary to thank someone for picking mine as best response. I can't say exactly why I feel that way it's just the way it is. There's no need for it as far as I'm concerned.
