will u take care of your parents when they are old?

My mother is 82 years old and lives alone but not far from where I live. She's had a few accidents and doesn't get around like she used to so I'm usually the one who goes out with here whenever she wants to go shopping or just get out of her apartment for the day. Since it's only my brother and I and he has a family and I"m single I always have the time for her and don't mind spending it with her. I don't know what will happen if the day comes that she can't live alone but I know that I will always be there for her. I feel it's the least I can do for my mom.

I decided when I was younger that I would never see my mother placed in a nursing home.(My father passed away when I was eleven). A few years ago my mom had a stroke she no longer gets around like she use to. She lives with me and I take care of all her needs. My mom made sacrifices for me when I was younger and I feel that now is the time for me to repay her for all that she has done for me.

I am taking care of my parents. The live in an apartment in a senior residence. They get dinner there and they get the place cleaned. But all the rest I help them with, I go shopping for their needs, I help them write letters as their eyesight is not good any more, I listen to their needs and worries and see to it that they go to doctors. I am happy that they have this apartment that they really like because I have a job and not really the time to clean their place and mine. They like their privacy but I go to visit and look after them very often. We are a happy family.

i will. I'm the only child in my family. Taking care of my parents is my responsibility. Now 25% of my income will given to my parent to improve their living quality.

Not sure about you people, but i would. Returning kindness that's given to you is the right thing to do, at least that's what i believe. ^^;

Ofcourse I will take care of them. Its my duty and I am doing it now.

It's very heartwarming to read the responses to this topic. Yes I will do my best to take care of my parents. Sometimes they drive me crazy but hey, no one's perfect. They're still my parents and I love them.

Yes, I believe we should look afer our parents when they are old. They are the ones who are always there for you through thick or thin.... Not just materialistic support but emotional as well. I will never forget, what they have done for me and I'll try my best to look after them....

YES! I did take care of my parents. I cherish each moment that I had with them. I lost my daddy, when he was 77 and that was 3 yrs ago this July. I lost my Mama when she was 78 and that was last September. I took care of them. I just wish I had had longer to take care of them and show them the love that they showed me all these years.

I will most definately take care of my parents when they get on in age. They took care of me i owe them at least that much. As a matter of fact they still take care of me now at my age so i got lots to make up to them in that area too. They always make sure i had everything and i will do the same for them.

u know yesterday i watch on tv that an old woman founded in street because her sons (3 sons)put her in street,because of their women,they doesnt want her live with them u know if this happend with me i will divorce my wife and kiss the hand of my mom

Yes I will. We may have arguments or heavy fights with our parents, but we should not treat them as if they did nothing good for us. No matter what happens, we should always remember that they loved us in the ways they know. It is also a sad thing to imagine that after all the sacrifices they have given us, no one would take care of them in the end. It sounds kind of heartless. Guess I would not only take of them. I would take care of them in my house with my family because they are not only after the comfort in their last days, they are after the joys that my children and the warmth of love that we could give them.

i will most certainly do everything in my power to look after my mom when she is no longer able to including selling my house and moving back to a town i tried all my life to get away from ..she has been the best mom in the world and has put up with stuff in this lifetime that i know in my heart and soul i could never have taken ..so yes i will ..although lol my mom and my husband arent to far apart in age (she will be 60 this yr and my husband is turning 52) lol so i will have to take care of both of them i think

Of course I'll do. Here in our country where family relationship is knit very closely, it is a tradition or nature to adopt and take care of your parents when they grew old. It is also one way to show your appreciation for all the love and care that they had shown you beside from the things they have provided.

Yes with all my might and power. i love my mother, she understand me in all aspect of my life, she is my best friend and she takes care of me when im sick and even when im not and even we takes care our mother when they old we can't pay enough of how they takes care and loves us. the unconditional love that our mother has for us is unbelievable.

of course i will take care my parents when they getting old and can't do a lot of things anymore. since i was grow up and can find some money for my self, i always try to take care them and try to make them happy. because without them, i can;t stand here and see this beautiful world
