What do you think of employers and the hiring process? I have been applying for jobs for 6 months and have had no luck. I turn my apps in and check back once a week and cant get anywhere. I applied for a job 10 days ago and waited a week and called them and they said they have been busy and hadnt reviewed the apps yet. I called back Friday and the manager said he was going to review them that day and now its Monday so how long till he might call to set up interviews? I know this girl who applied a week ahead of me and she called them everyday and they hired her last week. It is a factory and they're hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift at there 2 different plants and they said they had everything available for those shifts so I know there is alot of positions available. It pays real good for this area so I really would love to get on there. I wonder when I should call them back. And everyone says not to call to much but that girl I know called everyday. I am getting impatient as to finding a job. I dress nice and speak well and I am a friendly person. What is the deal. What is your intake?

My husband is going through the same thing. The job market here is really bad. He applies for jobs and then doesn't get a call back because he has an education. There is no work in field anymore.

It's not good here either. I am in northeast TN. I am goin crazy cause I have no income and I am a single parent of 2 kids and live on my own with no help. I can work any shift and I am not to picky. I dont know why it is so hard to find a job.

We are right outside of new orleans and unless you are a laborer, you can't find work. There is a shortage for a lot of jobs, like truck drivers, but none of them pay well - or even enough to make it worth going to a job. He was suppose to get a sweet contract job, but the job was canceled Friday. I work 30 hours a week plus do side work and go to school. I can't handle anymore. Good luck!

I've been trying to find a job for about 6 months myself. THe problem is that up till May, I was available to work (outside of home) Monday thru Friday from 9am till 2pm. Now that school is out, I'm only available 2 days a week and 4 hours a day. So that kind of sucks.
Good luck to you!

I know how that goes. I lucked up meeting someone who can watch mine any time. Not any daycares open late enough for most jobs.

Yes My Wife is having a very Hard time getting a Job and she has an awesome Resume to. I don't know what the problem is with anyone hireing anymore. Every job she has applied for has just been filled or they are still Interviewing People. So she waits then calls them and it has been filled allready. Also there are plenty of jobs where I live also so I have no Idea what there Problem is.

That is one thing that worrys me is waiting to long to call cause they might fill it quick. But if you call to much they dont hire you. I think you have to have connections these days. I dont have any.
