Compliments

Hi Withoutwings,It is interesting to me that you posted this question because I have been discussing compliments with a few people in the past week. Before going into that I will answer your questions. I received a compliment from my husband today about how much I have accomplished in many areas of life during the last 6 months. We went through a rough patch financially and personally as a result of some health problems he was having. Thankfully we are in a much better place now...and I am grateful for that and said so. He gave me an interesting suggestion that I am going to do after signing of mylot today. He suggested that I take some quiet time and make a list of the things I have managed to help him and others with and give myself a big pat on the back...essentially complimenting myself. ....uh-hhum...that is a tough one for most of us to wrap our brains around right? Aren't we taught that we have to be humble and not pat ourselves on the back too much...lest we get big-headed or appear less than religiously pious...or whatever the heck somebody else heard somewhere in time. Sometimes I wonder why people continue to buy into these 'cultural norms'...but that is another topic entirely. Any...hooo second part of your question I compliment people all the time. Not in gratutitous insincerity...but when I notice something I like, respect or appreciate...I just say it. I complimented my hubby on his self-responsible approach to his healing journey. I complimented the gals at our local branch for the excellent service they continually provide...and even took it upon myself to write a letter to their manager. May as well keep the compliments going in the direction they'd do the most good. I complimented my gal-pal on her cheery voice mail message and let her know how much a quick call back brightened my day!I could write oodles and boodles about my belief in promoting and sustaining an 'attitude of gratitude' approach to life. I posted that discussion on my site just the other day. I mentioned the movie Pay It Forward and was ecouraging all mylot users to do random acts of kindness (including compliments) so we can make the world a better place by letting others know we care...and that they are doing a good job! In my perspective...the world needs a lot more of this!

I got a compliment this morning. My bf said that I looked so cute when I was sleeping =) Like a sleeping beautie.. I gave him a compliment yesterday and I try to do it as often as I can since I think it is a nice way to show your love!

The last compliment I received was from my friend who complimented me on the fact that all my efforts at the gym were paying off and that I have bulked up considerably, it also gives me extra incentive and motivation to hear people compliment me on my body. The only compliment I gave someone was my friend and I told him that he goes the extra mile to make his friends happy

The last compliment I received was from my son about breakfast...he likes chocolate chip pancakes. :) The last compliments I gave someone was my son when we went out for a drive. He was not doing very well when he was turning, but after 30 minutes, he was doing much better. :)

the last one I got was from my kids this morning..My daughter said I was beautiful and my son said he's glad I'm his mom cause I'm the best mom ever LOL The last compliment i gave would be to my daughter for bringing home 3 certificates from school today...

I give them all the time, betwen hubby and the girls, I am the positive motivator in our house, LOL. The last one I received.....Um that would be.....Ummm....Oh I got one! My Father in law told me I was a misplaced rock in the pile. I told him I was taking that to be I was a gem, LOL.

Geez, I had to think long and hard about that one. Well, the last compliment I got was on Sunday, when a customer complimented me on a pair of earrings she purchased! The last compliment I gave was to my hubby when he had his hair cut. It looked really good! ;)

My boyfriend told me that I'm the best thing that's happened to him in a long time, and I'm the most caring person he's ever met. That made me feel really good!

The last compliment I recieved was about supper last night. Bruce said that the tortillini/brocoli dish I made was wonderful. the last compliment I gave was last night, I told my mom I was very proud of her. She consolidated a loan and got her payments lower by $700.

The last time someone said something along those lines was awhile back and they said thank you for starting a site which they have found useful.. ~Joey

The last compliment I recieved was from a friend of mine and they told me that I was loved. The last compliment I gave to someone was to another friend of mine, and I told them that their a special person who means a great deal to me.

Someone said "you are my sunshine" to me. And I think it's pretty cute. Not bad for the last cumpliment, huh? :)

I think it was 3 days back when complimented me about my looks and said i looking attractive...I remember i gave a compliment to my freind...She was looking pretty in her brown hair and wore a salwaar kameez and put accesories which was suiting her...
