I can't believe this is still happening. A child's parents left her in the car for over an hour while they were inside of a building arguing. This is outrageous! I am just amazed at how dumb people are. After all of these stories being in the news a little while back about kids being found dead in their cars because their parents left them in there. Dying because it's so hot in there. The cop said it was 77 degrees in there but it felt a lot hotter. They took the child, thank God! Hopefully they don't give that child back for a long time. What do you all think of this?

It was this type of situation that caused my adopted son to be removed from his mothers care. She decided to leave him out in the car so that she could have an argument with the father. It wasn't just that incident that caused her to lose her children but it was the start. It makes me upset that people don't treat their children as precious gifts. I never leave my children in the car for any reason. If I have to run in to the gas station to pay for gas the children are getting out to go in with me. I see no reason to take the chance of something happening that will cause me to have to live without my children.

How many kids need to die or get taken before parents grow up and think about what they are doing. Last summer in Calgary I was at a Canadian Tire, I was in the store for over an hour getting everything I needed when I came out there was kids in the van next to mine. I sat in my van waiting for the parents to come back. The kids where under 8, they kept getting out of the van and running around. I got out and yelled at them to get in their van and lock the doors. It was over a half an hour before the mother came back. I got out and told her she was stupid for leaving them in the heat and for that long. She responded with they are old enough to be alone and I should mind my own f**** business. The cops felt different and when I gave them her plate number they said they would be making sure she never does it again.

What I find funny is she thought she was getting away with it. I called the cops after I talked to her so she didn't even know that she was going to be facing the police. Something most parents don't realize is that there are laws on leaving kids alone. Most Provinces and States the law is they have to have supervision until they are 12 years old.

Good job! I'm very proud of you for taking the initiative to call the police about her. It just makes me laugh that people have the nerve to be rude to you when you are caring more about their kid's safety than they are. They should be ashamed.

From time to time, and I know this is not a good thing, but I have left my girls in the car while I run in to pick up food (it had already been ordered) or to put mail in the mailbox or even to quickly drop off a movie so that it is not late.
The total most time I left them in there was probably 5 minutes and that is it. I know it is not good but when I know I am just running in and running out taking them out of their carseats, and then pulling them into the store, to just turn around and put them back in their carseats (When I know they will not want to be put back in the chair in only 5 minutes) is very hard on me, more hard than if i just left them in the car it would be better for all of our sakes.
I would never leave my kid in the car when it is hot, or even if it were super cold. It is not good to leave in the car period....anything more than 5 mnutes is not good in my book but I can understand if you are just running in, drop off mail, running out....It can be hard when you have toddlers.

I think that a lot of people are guilty of that. The thing is that in only takes a minute or two for someone to take your child. I guess that we all need to be a little less careless when it comes to our kids in that situation or any other for that matter.

I don't know how people can leave kids in locked cars with no chance of getting any air. It's like they just switch off their brains when they get out their cars.
It's the same with pets. How many times have you seen a dog locked in a car in sweltering heat with the windows up? It makes me angry that some people out there have so little disregard for other lives.

thats really a depressing situation to see, fighting over something and forgetting something so important to them. Sometimes people are just naive they think more of themselves than others. I am always pissed of with people like that.
Children shouldn't be left alone. I have a friend who grew up quite well right now because when her mom gave birth to my friend, she left her job for awhile because she doesn't want her child to grow up not knowing how it feels being raised by her own mother.

That's exactly how I want my son to be raised. I don't want someone else raising my son. Yeah, eventually I want a job. But I don't want it to take over my life and take my time away from my son.

Not only do I think that parents should get fair play and locked in a car and see how they like it, but also they should pay numerous amounts of fines, go to parenting classes, but these people shouldn't be allowed to have children. It's just STUPID!

I'm the same way! I think the punishment should really fit the crime. Whatever you do to someone, you should get done to you. Of course, with some things there's no way that's possible but with most that would work.

Indeed... This is absurd... Don't this people know how hot it'll get inside... Sometimes I wish they get trapped themselves and let them feel the heat.... It will be very traumatic for the children not being a able to fend off the heat...Utter madness!!

I think that both parents were acting like morons. I don't know of anything that is worth fighting about while your child sits in a hot car. It amazes me how many people don't stop to consider what the repercussions of making a bad decision. I agree with you that I hope that they don't get this child back for a good long time.

They are probably out of their mind. Please, how can anybody leave the children in the car all by themselves. Not mentioning about the temperature or ventilation. You will never know what will happen in a second; everything is unpredictable. I felt sorry for the children and ridiculous for those that leave the kid alone in the vehicles.

Its very bad. People should be responcibe enough to have children. If they are no they dont deserve to be called as parents.
