giving cats ear medication

Grace has an ear infection. :( So-I have to clean her ears out every day, and then apply 8 drops of medicine in each ear for 2 10-day sessions. Much easier said than done, believe me! I've tried having hubby hold her-but I think he gets too nervous when she twists and turns trying to get away from evil mommy, so I've taken to wrapping her in a blanket, held at the nape of her neck, not too tight of course, but enough to keep her from getting loose too soon.
This seems to work the best, but it still takes 3-4 tries to get the medicine where it needs to go. Any better suggestions?

My one cat, Pyewacket I always seem to have to clean out his ears...and he is NOT a good patient--he's a real horror--what I do is get everything set up in the bathroom prior to my doing the task. I scoop him up bring him into the bathroom and close the door...and of course, since he knows what's up, crawls and hides behind the toilet...which I have to then crouch down to grab him then wrap him up like a mummy with a large towel, holding it fairly tight around him with one hand while I clean out his ears with the other..no easy feat I'll tell you...when I'm finished and let him go..he turns around and hisses at me...LOL
This doesn't have to do with cleaning a cats' ears but on giving a cat a pill...I think you'll find it amusing..and I can relate to it!!

That's pretty much what I ended up having to do with Grace...She's one of the sweetest, friendliest cats I've known-but not at ear cleaning time! I had to restrain myself from laughing when she tried to growl at me...it just didn't sound right, a little tiny unused baby growl...lol

The best way is to close her eyes with a proper muzzle, I have one for my cats and works like a charm. The problem is that they grew and it doesn't fit anymore. We can't find those in Brazil, mine is from the USA. Go to a pet shop anf look for a cloth muzzle, it'll help you a lot specially when it's vaccination time.
