Did you go crazy with cutting and pasting when you got to 500?

Personally I cant wait to get to 500 so I have to option to cut and paste. Not that I will go crazy with it, but it annoys me when I see a news story worth commenting on and it is easier to cut and paste the story so you dont have to type out the whole thing, but alas I am not at 500. So you know what I do? I dont bother! And thats the thing, I want to bother, but I am not typing out a whole page story only to have 3 people reply to the discussion!
So when you got to 500 did you cut and paste a lot or did it not affect the way you do your thing on myLot?

I too couldn't wait to hit 500 posts so that I could cut and paste.
However, when I hit 500 I really didn't do it that much and now, I do it even less LOL. Sometimes there are bit of information from different websites that I cut and paste as part of a discussion, but this is rare.
I don't see the need to do it to be honest except on rare occasions.

Tee Hee. Your posting made me laugh the way you worded it. Thanks for the chuckle. I have been away from MyLot for the last couple of months, returning today, and have forgotten about the copy and paste benefits. Will have to give it a go to see how much more convenient it can be.

No it didnt affect me at all.. to be honest I have only used cut and paste a few times I have never really found anything that I need to cut and paste.. you could always try put a link to the news story in your discussion that way people can go straight to the story..

That is a good idea, but as i said in a response to someone else, sometimes the links can be pretty long. And if they have heaps of numbers and symbols etc it can be time consuming going back and forth between the page to type it all out! Thanks for your reply!

I agree with you totaly, fair enough they say don't copy other peoples work, But when you are under 500 and can't copy and paste and would like to discuss a news item for example.
It makes it hard to even just put the link to it in here imagine typing out links like this
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070625/ap_on_fe_st/peru_guinea_pig_cuisine_1;_ylt=Ah.r.YdLZx3KfQizaSM882IE1vAI
Every time you want to tell people about a certain new item and get people to discuss it ... lol

Thankyou! Finally someone who is clever enough to realise that news links and the like can be verrrrryyyy long and annoying to type out. plus the big jumble of letters at the end means you have to keep flicking between pages every second or two to make sure you have gotten it right!

Nope. I have passed 3,000 posts and just did my first cut and paste...lol. I would rather not post news stories becasue most of them are about somethig bad happening and I for one don't need to hear about all the rotten things happening in the world. I usually make up my own ideas and I do need the typing practice...lol.

I did not go crazy with cutting and pasting and I still do not go crazy doing it. It seems that many people are using it the wrong way and trying to cheat here on myLot. I only use it to copy my own comments if the system is going slow or get disconnected. I do not copy and paste other peoples comments or material from other websites. We need to make sure we are following the rules here and not using that feature for the wrong reasons.

I understand, as I think people who copy and paste other peoples discussions are just losers who cant think of their own but that isn't what i will be using it for. I just want to be able to paste large links or interesting things i find and want to share.

Considering I was over the 500 mark when mylot started that it didnt change a thing with the way I did things. I only copy and paste certain things and it is very minimal on my part.

I feltthe samewhen I was in the four hundreds! But see what happened! I got busy with my work after I finished my 500 postings, and could dedicate only a very small amount of time for mylot these days. I am sure that the situation will change soon. But, I haven't used the cut and paste facility as much I would have loved it.

i have reached 500 posts before, but my id was blocked here. and i barely use the copy paster when i want to make some discussion and response. i usually use it when i want to upload some images and paste the description. so i didn't have to write a long sentences to filling the description box

Well, personally I have been at 500 way longer than they implied this Rule, but honestly from their point of view, I am Glad they implemented it. I know there are a lot of Great things out there that would be nice to discuss but they also would like a lot of our discussions to be on a more personal level as well, as copying and pasting depending on what you are sharing sometimes can be considered cheating as well.
I occassionally have used Cut and Paste and if I ever use Word more often than I do I might start using it more often than I do again. But for me a lot of my thoughts either come at the time I am writing them, or from thoughts I have taken time to Write down in a Notebook to choose to discuss on here or other sites as well.

I was also excited when i reached 500 posts but i seldom copy and paste. As in very rare. I always type what ever i post here. besides, i does not guarantee that you will earn more if you do that because you will eventualy have a quite long buut effort-less post.
I always prefer to type, that way, it is more personal.ΓΌ

Probably not much! You should put some thought and time into your responses and try give a few lines at least if you are here for the money.
