does anyone use squidoo or hubpages to get their writing noticed or for money? http://hubpages.com/_writeapage do you like squidoo or hubpages better? Do you earn more with which one? and is this the right forum for this type of discussion? Would you be willing to write 1000 words a day at either if you were to make a couple bucks?

I am not familiar with that website, but I do write for Associated Content. Here is my referral link if you are interested: http://www.associatedcontent.com/join.html?refer10242. I like this website. You get paid an initial payment (not much, but something). They are good about paying that right away. You can also get bonuses depending on how many page views your content gets, as well as for referring others. They also review your work quickly, and they accept articles on a variety of topics. Articles need to be at least 400 and in some cases at least 500 words. The one you have suggested sounds interesting as well. I will have to check that out.

I may look into a.c. but I am very poor at writing. I practice some at hubpages.

I use open-content sites to keep myself busy daily. These include: [x] http://www.suite101.com [x] http://www.epinions.com [x] http://www.associatedcontent.com [x] http://www.helium.com (still unsure about this one) I use http://www.squidoo.com to promote articles that offere page view bonuses or that rely entirely on page views for income. I haven't tried http://www.hubpages.com yet, but it's been recommended to me several times by people I trust. I don't rely on ANY of these efforts as my sole method of income, though. I use these sites only to keep writer's block away, to keep *some* income flowing in and to keep the act of income producing writing part of my everyday life. I choose to write for newsletters, magazines, websites and newspapers for my primary income. I query these targets the same time I work on here and the other sites I've mentioned above. That way, the time I'm querying is still *paid* time (even though it's VERY low pay - still better than nothing). I hope this helps!
