How long do you keep your make ups?

Im just wondering whats the expiration dates of make ups... I found a lipstick from my moms dresser. It was sealed. But I think it was there for a few years now. How many years should you keep your make ups?

hello dons626. for me, i only keep non-sealed make ups for 3 months only. after that i dispose it bcpz they say it's not good to keep make ups specially mascara for almost 3 to 5 months. :)

Bacteria builds up on makeup really fast. In all reality you shouldn't even keep it around for 6 months, but I know that I still have stuff that I used to wear almost 5 years ago sitting in my makeup bag. If it's sealed it's not a problem and it'll last for a long time if isn't kept in the heat or moisture.
