Mylot isn't what it used to be...

I remember reading a discussion when I first joined about how down hill the site had became. Back then there was a lot more good discussions and very easy to find, there was also many responders who enjoy the basic chit chat we shared.
Back then I also thought this wouldn't be an issue although mylot isn't what it used to be.
Sorry folks it seems more like peoples in it for the money which is another thing that was brought up a lot. I don't like that thought but they are many here who just don't notice it :)
Friendship very important to myself and I want to keep a good active list. (one goal myself)
Please answer if your new; What's your thought on this?
If you've been here awhile or from the start/near as; Please tell what you've noticed change over your time here?

This is interesting. I tryed to make good deep discussions on different topics, trying to share knowledge and ask for other's knowledge.
But little by little, I have found that the more my topics are deep, the more people find them complicated and stop to answer, or even sometimes kkep on arguing with no reason...
So I have tried to find my circle of friends that are not afraid of that topics, and then I also post some easy discussions to get more resposponses... I wish I had not to think on that.

You know I used to look forward to find new people and good discussions but like you said no on else goes for them. (unless there about anger, issues etc)
I'm not really about to sell myself :)

I'm new and yes I wish there were more meaningful discussions...one where people would actually share stuff or give their opinion instead of just answering shortly just to get a post in (plus earn income).

I think you are right Joey..it's a sad fact that most people come to mylot for money or to watch how high the number by their name goes..I, myself, come to congregate with people around the world ..
I live a semi-cloistered life..so do not get out as much as most people..
I love talking to people from different cultures, and ideologies.
Sadly, though, people on my list..are not responding..
I have been busy this week..and also trying to figure out where my long last cat disappeared to..

I agree. When I first joined the quality was a lot higher, and as it grew the cheaters came stealing conversations/replies and posting useless junk.
I do find it hard to find a topic that I'm interested in enough to reply too, and many discussions seem to get recycled as people don't use the search engine to check if a topic has been posted before.

Hi Joey. I have been here for 5 months already. I started with my energy hyped up in all four corners of mylot and was indefatigable. There are always interesting discussions for me to post.
I missed some of the older members who are no longer partaking here. They are the posters who never failed to show their sensibilities in all their threads and responses as well. Mylot used to be a friendly community and everyone enjoyed the camaraderie.
Its different now, in the sense, that majority of the members are now more selfish in thoughts with the goals of earning more and gaining popularity. I'm not happy with it.

I was here around the start of things and I thoroughly enjoy being n mylot. It is tough. In all honesty, I have not had the time I use to have to input discussions or even to hardly answer them. Today and yesterday I started to get things up to par again. I have a few sites that I have joined and I am working on my home based business so for now, things are pretty hectic for me. But I still love Mylot, I have made some great money here and I do like that a lot I have also made some great friends here on this forum and I hope to continue to do that too!

The turnover on this site is massive, and the amount of friends I've made but sadly departed is infinite, there are lots of things that put people off, the money, the constant deleting of discussions for no apparent reason, the nastiness, although thankfully there's not too much of it here and people just don't have the time and inclination after a while and just drift away, but I know what you mean my friend.

I come to mylot for 2 month now, and I learn a lot from it.
it is my first programs to make money online, and when I come here, I really a money crazy.
but now I found I am not a money crazy.
I found lots of friends here, and I could not keep so active here. I read more,but response less.
I know I could not earn money by reading, but I can find fun from reading.
I also try other paid forums, but I found though they might pay more than mylot, they could not keep in a long term, and they will banned members without any reason.
so come back to mylot,and keep active here.

Hello Joey,
I'm not too new. I've been here about two months.
I hate it when I come to a forum and I hear about how good it "used to be". For one, it makes me wonder what I've missed. Secondly, it makes me think "What am I? Minced meat?"
I think I start some pretty decent discussions. Yes there are times that I have trouble finding interesting discussions to reply to. When that happens I just try to start some discussions myself. When I run out of ideas, I just take a break. After a day or two, I come up with some more ideas, or some new discussions have come up that I find interesting.
How about this idea? Instead of complaining about that lack of quality discussions, everyone who is complaining about that, should start some of their own! hmmmm?

The main problem is that the chit chat has gone, I knew many people who started good discussion that now focus on getting "quick" replys.
(because now hardly anyone responds to long discussions)

I haven't been on MyLot for very long, but I have noticed quite a few "discussions" that really aren't discussions at all. They're just a way for people to rack up their numbers and their pennies.
I know that I don't start a lot of discussions, but that's cuz I'm trying to start good ones, not just fluff. That's the kind of answers I like, too--good ones, not just fluff.

yeah, i agree that mylot is not what it used to be. like all the discussion were there which can be replied easily, so there were even more responsers

I have been here for almost a month. I have been introduced to mylot many times but I just ignored it. I surfed the site so many times but still, I didn't sign up for it. Until one day, someone informed me that this is one of the best sites to earn, again I surfed and signed up at last. I don't want to be selfish. At first, I was looking for a way to earn extra income online as I read a lot about it before. But after awhile, I found that mylot offers more than that. (I don't know about the earnings as I have not achieve my minimum payout so this is not the main reason I am still here) I like the discussions. I love to read and respond to them. I feel that this is the site that can can help me to find more friends and discuss openly about anything!

You`re right. The most serious users are demotivated, disapointed or just bored. The new ones are very active...to promote scams and sites. And every action has reaction. I am here from some mounths only, but i feel the difference.The atmosphere changes and changes not for a good:-(

I've been here two months now, I've seen alot of changes regarding discussions. I have been seeing alot of lame questions like "Whats you favorite color?" or "Whats your favorite number?". Some of the responses make me laugh. I got a response to a discussion I posted, this person responded with "yyggsrb7ls" what is that, I have no clue. When I first joined, I was on for 6-8 hours per day. I had no problem responding to a discussion, I could get 25-40 per day. Now I spend 16-20 hours just trying to find worthy discussions to respond to. I don't think that myLot is like it was when I joined. I hope it gets better!

When I first arrived I could spend hours on mylot. Now I come here as little as possible, it seems. I use it more to keep in touch with my mylot friends than for any other purpose now. The money is minor, the friendships are more but lately I've seen some nasty posts and nastier replies to comments than is called for. There are more than a few that seem to gang up when they don't like a reply to a post and there's one mylot identity I will now avoid because of uncalled for abuse to one of my replies. I answer many less posts, reading between the lines and trying to determine whether it will really be a dialogue or if the writer just wants everyone to agree with their statements. I've only been here 6 weeks or so and I think it's deteriorated.

I am very new to this site. So far I like it but there seems to be very little actually meaningfully responses and discussions. I am also a member of Sparkpeople, and it is SO easy to go on there day in and out because the people are SO nice and SO supportive. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of wonderful people on here as well. I just wish it was easier to sort through the valid posts, and that people didn't just respond for the sake of responding.

It seems it is quite difficult to find discussions that i can respond to easily. I have to search and search before i locate discussions I can respond too. It would have been nice if there are much better discussions here on mylot. May be there were in those days and may be people have got tired of starting good discussions or they have exhausted all there discussions.
