How am I supposed to get to work without a car??

My 2001 Pontiac GT just stopped working the other day and I had to take it in. The guy at the shop told me that I had blown the transmission...which is going to take about a week to fix.
I have no idea how Im getting to work for the rest of this week....any ideas??
