My dog died last year, I cried a lot and now I don't have the heart to get a new one. Have you ever felt the loss of such good friends and how do you cope with it? Will getting a new one help to forget the old friend?

i lost two cats last year one was the dad of my two kittens he went missing before his babys were born that broke my heart i searched for him for weeks. and then one of his kittens the only one that was so much like her dad became ill at just 4.5 months old, just before christmas they night before christmas eve i had to have her put to sleep her kidney was dyeing and she was in alot of pain and distress it was awful. i was gutted over what had happened but i had to pull threw for my son and my other cats still needed me so i turned all of my attention and love towards them
i still have my two older cats and the two kittens. but they are all so different they all have there own little character.
i beleive you could never replace your much loved animal that has past but you can bring another into your life and heart.

You don't ever want to 'forget' your old friend! But you can make room in your heart for a new one! I would urge you to go to your local animal shelter or SPCA and see what dogs they have available that desperately need a good home and the love you can provide! If there is a specific breed you want, there are many breed specific organizations. There is often a fee, but the dogs usually are current on their shots and have been spayed/neutered already.
