Yeah i do use it when i am responding to some discussion or while chatting because i think it shows your mental mood that whats in your mind at the moment

The only time I've found myself using smilies is when I'm chatting in some sort of Messenger or leaving someone an e-mail. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with using them, it's just not my cup of tea if I don't know someone.
