I'm not really sure what the difference between a condominium unit and an apartment except that an apartment is probably smaller.
Actually, I would really prefer to live in a condo because it sounds cooler. Just kidding... I would prefer condos because you have as much space as you can like having a small house. I would prefer a loft condo though since I like the idea of having a loft in my home. A condo wouldn't be too big and wouldn't be too small either. The building would also probably have all the amenities I like... swimming pools, gyms and such.

I prefer to live in a condominium because you can talk to the owner and request for things that you need for the room. Here in Thailand, condominiums are most fully furnished that's why people prefer it. In apartments they only provide bed, locker and dresser.
Another thing is that, condominiums charge lower electric rates than apartments. It is because condos are considered as residential whereas apartments are commercial so they have different electric rate about 50% difference. Imagine that?

I agree. I also thought about that rent-to-own places for future investment.. d;)
