The U.S. reinforcements are in Iraq now and ready to do the job! 10,000 U.S. and Iraqi troops launch an offensive in Northeast Baghdad to deny Al Qaeda the stronghold it has enjoyed far too long. Weapons and implements of torture have already been captured. Go Get 'em Troops! Show the Blame America First Naysayers in Congress how stupid they are for already announcing the "surge" is a failure. The reinforcement isn't a failure, those know-nothing suits in Washington, who don't support you but pray for you to lose are the failure!

you Bether take a sedativ, the US will never win this occupation, they are millions ready and waiting for the right moment, they have all the time they need, you can be very strong but bees can kill a bull so the method used in the moment will never work. so take the mens home and care for the wounded.

I would hope that nobody is praying for the failure of the men on the ground. But there hasn't been any appreciable reduction in overall violence, and there doesn't seem to be any more of a longterm, directed plan to alter the background on which the violence operates. And they need a lot more men. A lot more. It all seems to hinge on the insane idea that the fledgling Iraqi army can hold it all together. And there is the core of the issue. Failures at the Administrative level, failures to understand and to act, have left a mess on the ground that will require years to fix - and neither party wants to accept that fact. Bush was complacent and lazy, blew the capital they had just after the fall of Saddam - and now the guys on the ground are paying the cost. I pray, as do the people of Iraq, that some time soon there will seem to be an end in sight to the ongoing sectarian and terrorist bloodbath.

There hasn't been an appreciable reduction in overall violence because the new reinforcement and strategy is only beginning. We keep looking to the past and arguing the same tired arguments. Yes, mistakes were made, Gen. Abazaid has been replaced and not it's time for us to back Gen. Petreus. The Iraqi government is moving forward, as is the infrastructure of Iraq. I pray there will be an end to the terrorist bloodbath too. If the terrorists hadn't have moved in, this war would have been over long ago... but again, that is looking back. we are there, they are there, so we need to stop them where they are.

How does it feel to be so high and mighty above all us brainwashed rednecks? The sad thing is, you are just telling it like you see it. Most of us see troops as people, but I guess that is just to hard for you.

I've done nothing but praise the guys on the ground, and feel bad that they have been let down by their so-called leaders. Please don't confuse criticism of the Administration with lack of support for the soldiers in the field. Much as the President would like to link the two, they are entirely unconnected. And frankly, failing to be honest about the lack of planning and support coming from the top makes a mockery of the sacrifices being made on the ground.
