On Sunday, 17 June was the 82nd Comrades Marathon down run from Pietermaritzburg to Durban and it was won by this 38 year old man, Leonid Shvetsov who broke Bruce Fordyce's 21 year standing record. What a fantastic run this man had. He looked strong from the outset and it was pure joy watching how he never slowed down a little bit on the hills. He is truly a fantastic runner. In the womem's race it was Elena and Oleysa Nrgalieva that dominated the race and although most thought that 3 times winner Elena would take the first place it was actually Oleysa that won the comrades for the first time. Stunning performance from both the girls. Did any of you watch this stunning race Sunday?

I havent heard of this race, but it sounds like it was exciting to watch. The winners sounded like they truly deserved to win. I am sure they put in a lot of work. Best wishes to you

That is so odd because I thought everybody knew about the comrades marathon. Yes the winners in the mens and womens race are both russian... it is a hectic race.
