It just means that you must concentrate on the present, the things that you are doing. if you worry about the future or sit regretting the past then your efficiency will go down, so if you want to do things right and enjoy life then live as if there is no tomorrow.

The past and the future are just perception. What we remember (and with human beings sometimes our memory is flawed) is colored by our own perceptions and preconceptions. This is the past. We are not machines with perfect unemotional total recall. The future is just hope that the reaction from our actions is, or someone elses actions. All we really control is right now. That does not mean we should be financially irresponsible and not plan for the future, but it is so uncertain what will really happen. Live today, get through today, then the next day will come.
