Ok. we have a neighbor who has a pool. SHe is gone for the beach but has given us permission to use her pool while she's gone. Is it wrong for me to relax by the pool while my kids take a nap? I would bring the monitors with me to plug in. Would you as a mom do this?

I think it is fine as long as you have the monitor with you and you don't have music playing that would stop you from hearing it. Also, even though you are only next door, I would still lock your house up as an extra precaution.
Go enjoy the pool and relax. It's probably beautiful weather where you're at. And when the kids get up from their nap, maybe they will want to join you in the water and you can have some great fun together.

I do not think this is wrong. As long as you can hear your kids and know if something goes wrong. I don't see this being much different than you being in another part of the house doing something else while the little ones nap. I'm not a mom but I would feel comfortable doing this. I would also run over every so often just to double check on them.

I don't think it's wrong at all, i think that every parent needs their adult time, that doesn't include the kids, and the thing is, your kids are taking a nap, then you have every right to have that time for you.
Looks like your pulling out all the stops, so enjoy it, take some time for you as much as you can, that's what it takes sometimes to be happy in your own skin completely and keep your identity.

Not at all. You're just next door and you have the monitors. Plus, you can go check on them any time. I would go ahead and take some time off to relax. You deserve it. It will energise you and make you feel better and more equipped to care for them when they are awake. Just remember that the best thing you can do for your kids is to take care of YOU. Cos' if you're exhausted, not well, stressed out, etc. you can't take good care of them anyway.
