Today is my husbands day off and we were taking some more things over to our new house and there are deer there too. As we pulled up there were some deer in the back eating our grass. Hey maybe we wont have to mow the lawn now.LOL Im glad there are deer there too because I love watching them they are so beautiful. There was alot of them around 6or 7 and only one buck. I guess he was the big daddy.LOL He had alot of wives.LOL

Oh how lovely, when we moved in here we had kangeroos in our back yard. There is something wonderful about nature so close. Though they did nothing for the lawn they were beautiful to watch. I hope your deer do a better job than our roos did.lol

Awww that is wonderfull. Hey just a thought if you want to start a garden of veggies plant arround your garden a flower callued an alieum also known as the flowering onion. It smells like onions and will keep the deer from eating your veggies.

It must be lovely to have that type of wildlife around your home. Although we do still have some wild deer in the UK, it's usually only the landed gentry who get to see them from their windows. Most people are lucky to see a fox or badger.
As for mowing your grass, I doubt the deer will do a good job but a couple of sheep or goats would! If I am ever luck enough to own a nice big house with some land, I'll definitely invest in some livestock rather than a ride-on mower!

They really are beautiful animals. I get to see them just about daily too at my house. They eat the weeds, the tree leaves. I think you'll still need to mow though, LOL! I'm not sure how rural you are but you may want to notice if there are other animals roaming as well. We started having coyote problems here a year or so ago. People with small dogs should not be leaving their dogs outside alone anymore (I have big ones). And just a few weeks ago my dogs scared a bear. They're all beautiful when you can watch from the window :)

I live near a Nature Center and have seen a lot of deer on the roads etc near winter time. I live in a fairly large city also. So deer sightings are great. But we see all sorts of Gods critters around here. Even saw a wild turkey in my driveway early this year. I didn't but my wife and daughter did see it. Now my dads farm up north is great. We used to set out salt lick blocks for the deer and watch them all day long. I love nature.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Cool- my sister used to have deer at her PA place and she put a salt lick out for them- it was so cool to watch them. Of course if you have dogs you may not want to do that...lol--- the first time my two saw one they thought it was another dog - a really big one- my husband had to yell to get the deer to run cause he was starting to grunt at the boys and my husband got worried that he might hurt them.

When I was a teenager my parents moved not from the town, but just moved a few miles away from our original house. It was such a pleasure to look in the backyard and see deer. You just never knew when you were going to see them. I also occasionally saw a coyote chase a deer, but thankfully the deer outran it. : )

Oh that's fantastic that you have deer to watch in your new place since I remember how much you enjoyed watching them from your kitchen of your "old" place...hey maybe they followed you there...hehhe---
