Ok so here's a little tid bit of information that some people like to blow off as just superstition but its much more than that. 3am is often known as the unholy hour or the devils hour. It is said there is an extreme surge in eivl spiritual energy at that time. According to the Christian faith Christ was killed at 3pm, so as a way to mock the death of christ and the trinity the devil chose 3am as his hour. Wether or not you want to believe this as fact, take some things into mind. How many of you have woken up in the middle of the night to an unexpained feeling, like something wasn't right? Or felt like there was something in the room with you? How many of you have pets that have freaked out at this time of night? As much as people would like to pass this off as myth it isn't. There have been numerous accounts of supernatual surges durning that time. If you look up any supernatual or spirtual killings most of them are during that time. Does make ya think don't it.

I had never heard this, but I suppose it could be true. In the Amityville Horror, which is based on actual events, the killer killed his family at 3:15am. The new family's dad kept waking up at 3:15 with a desire to harm his family. I have woken up feeling like someone had been in the room with me before but the times always vary. However, I always wake up at around 330am every single night for the past 3 months. Why? I have no idea. I get up, check on my son, check on the dogs and go back to bed.

Yea, I know what you mean. Before my days got reversed I woke up quite a bit at about 3-3:30ish. It happened almost every night for a while. I also use to have night terrors, they stoped when i started working nights and slept during the day. Still there are those nights that I actually go to bed before 3 and I kid you not I end up having a nightmare or night terror on those nights. Always waking up around 3-3:30ish. Now I just stay awake all night and sleep during the day lol. I'm not about to risk it.

Well I've never heard of this, but have to say I also never wake up at 3.00am in the morning. I sleep through almost anything! Or perhaps it's just that I'm such a confirmed Atheist - I don't beieve in God or the Devil, or Heaven of Hell - so I'm immune to all these "spriritual" happenings. Interesting concept though!

Well as my grandmother all ways said, just because you don't believe in them don't mean they don't believe in you lol. So even now as an adult I don't believe so much in those things either, but I do know that there are spirtual things out there beyond my knowledge and control that can harm me if given the chance.

Coincidentally I posted a similar thread some months ago about how I tend to get a little "freaked out" between 3 and 4 a.m. I'm usually up at those hours (night owl that I am) and regularly feel a sense of unease or anxiety.
I've heard about this theory before. Honestly I'm not sure, it is a possibility.
Another poster however, in my other thread noted that levels of cortisol (stress hormone) are known to rise to their highest levels at around 3 a.m. This could explain both my feelings of unease and the other examples you mentioned.

Wow! I had never heard of that before! I have heard of the 'witching hour'...midnight. Now I wonder if the times I woke from a strange or scary dream was at 3 am.
