those websites that are asking for money is about 90% scam or half of what they tell you is a lie. there are a lot of sites that you can check for a job.
If you know a thing or two with computers (softwares, data entry, virtual assistant, website design, etc) then check out http://www.getafreelancer.com. there are thousands of jobs there and it's absolutely free to join. Good Luck!

I would go so far as to say that those pay websites are 100% scam, they gather the information that can actually be found on the web for free.
Any legitimate company is not going to ask for any money. If you go to WAHM.com and go into the forums, there is a telecommuting forum that has a listing of ALOT of companies that offer work at home jobs. WAHM stands for Work At Home Mom, by the way.
A little over a month ago, I was introduced to 'My Power Mall' where you shop in your own mall (and get rebates) and then you give away malls to others to do the same (you make a small percentage off of their purchases. I joined a little over a month ago and I've already received a check.
Here is my personal mall if you want to see the kinds of rebates that I get: www.mypowermall/mall/5053
