My mom is obsesed by these kind of books and she made me read one once. Jeeeeeez!! That was the highest density of stupid things / page I had ever written. Those kindof books were invented for frustrated and unhappy naive people who think that only thinking (but still a lack of atitude) cand change their life. Unfortunately, my mom doesn;t listean to reason.

I totally believe we can shape our lives any way we want. I read two books in the last year, that involved creating the life we want. Although I am not especially religious, both books were god-based in being inspirational.
The first was 'Forty Days of Purpose'. This book was to be read over 40 days, and you were only suppose to read one section a day. Forty Days, dealt with us knowing what our purpose here on earth is, and how not everything is about us.
More recently I read Max Lucado's 'Cure for the Common Life', this book too was inspirational about living our best life, but was more Career based. Bluntly put, this book was about getting to know yourself, your strenghts weaknessess, and using both to be what you want and need to be.
Both were great, and I highly recommend them.

I have no interest in those types of things, I think they become a religion to many... I am pretty well grounded in my own faith/religion already and find that these types of thoughts focus too much on self, making yourself out to be a god.
this sort of Self Pride is no virtue.

I have read a few positive thinking books. The best ones I think are the "Think and Grow Rich" series by Napoleon Hill. They give you actual, concrete exercises to do to get yourself in the "Positive Mindset." In reading these books I was able to receive my license for selling Life, Health, and Accident Insurance in January '06.

I don,t need to read a book about it to think positive. When I'M getting negative I always have my mother to bring me back on track and to make me see the good thing in everything.

I read every one of those kinds of books that I can get my hands on and many of them have been enjoyable reading as well as informative. To me it just isn't common sense to go around dragging others down with gloom and doom. It is better to be practical. Some pessimists say that optimists are not practical, but I say the opposite.
