Job perks!

Which benefits would you say are the most important when selecting a company to work for?
Flexible hours? Ability to work overtime hours, so that you could make more money? Company sponsored health care or dental plan? Free company car?
Considering that I'm a full time stay at home mom, a potential employer would have to be willing to work around my daughter's schedule. My child is non-negotiable!
So, for me, the best benefit would be job flexibility.
Or, the ability to work part time hours on more days.
Company daycare would also be a tremendous perk! Simply knowing that my daughter was in the same building would help alleviate any worries that I might have.
What's your ideal job perk?

For myself job flexibility would be a major thing along with company daycare. I'm also a stay at home mom so being around my daughter or at least knowing she is close by would be a must for me. Right now my fiance is running a computer repair business from the home but he has been considering getting a corporate job with steady pay, hours and benefits. For him the most important things in looking for a job is pay, benefits including health and dental insurance and vacation, and possibility for promotion are all important to him.

for me as a full time mom...must be the flexible hours. also that company day care will help, and health care plus dental plan. Doctor fee very expensive. I'm gonna need that for myself and my two daughter. If you don't have it, you can see your saving suck to doctor/hospital bill.

The company day care is a big deal here! And, it's so hard to find, except with really big companies. I think places like big newspaper and magazine publishing firms offer that kind of perk. And, you don't have to be an executive to use the day care, just any kind of job, clerical, administrative, etc. would do.
For us, local day care costs (minimum) $500-$600 per child, full time. But, that's where we live.
It may be less elsewhere.

I'm still a student and several years away from work, but this is an interesting topic :)
I really cannot follow sleeping and waking hours, so having flexible hours (or even work-from-home options) is a must! I'm quite mercenary and prone to overspending too, so I'd like overtime pay.

I'd love to have a company car with paid petrol, it would certainly be the most valuable perk. Travel would be good to but the car would be my main pick!

For me, the important job perks are Car Plan, Housing Plan, Personal Loans, Company Approved and Assisted Credit Card with credit limit of $50,000. Free International Leisure Trips, Free Limousine Service with Driver of Course, meal allowance, representation allowance, hazard pay, inconvenience, and would allow me to work and stay at a five star resort.

I am in the same boat as you. I would only take on a full time job that allow complete flexible hours. The ability to work at home would be best.
Health, dental, 401Ks are all covered with my husband work so I would have it going for me that all I ask is for flexible hours.

Now that both my children are grown up, I don't mind working on a fixed schedule. My most important job perks are job security and opportunity to grow and promotion. All these three are found in the company I am connected with right now for the past 23 years, and still counting. Call it loyalty...but I intend to retire here. The benefits are good, and there are opportunities for promotion as long as you are deserving. I really admire you for making your child as your no. 1 priority, that's why you choose flexibility of work schedule so that you can take good care of your child. Yup, I agree. It's just unfortunate that company daycares were not yet popular during "my" time...You see, I'm already 49 years old, so...

Flexible hours, no doubt about it!!
I work form 10am to 7pm, and I hate it! It's almost dark in winter when I get out, and most of the shops close at 8... grrrr, I just feel I don't have time to do anything! So my next move will be less hours, rather than more money!

when we opt for more perks they will give us a resposible job for us until we complete that job we will be not able to go to our house so for that purpose they will be paying more perks and time we have to make adjustment

whatever benefits r there the most imp person is ur daughter.so i believe a flexible schedule that u can adopt to revolve around ur daughter is the most imp perk.also if the company has a daytime care it is an added perk.moreover the transportation so that u reach back to ur daughter quickly is also needed

Unfortunately, the first thing I have to consider is salary. I don't have flexible hours as a school psychologist, but on the other hand, I do get two months off in the summer, and I never have to worry about getting Thanksgiving and Christmas off. That is important to me as my family lives some distance a way and it is important to me to be able to spend holidays and a couple of weeks in the summer with them. Of course, it takes me at least two months to recover form said job. It takes a lot out of me and can be very overwhelming. So I would say that workload is a very serious concern to me.
