I have been dealing with an incessant cough for a while now and it just won't go away. Does anyone have a good home remedy that they do when they have a cough?

If you are a drinker I suggest a hot toddy. This is made by putting a shot of brandy or another dark drink (Whatever your prefrence)in a cup of regular tea. This should open up your chest and do away with the cough. You should have some time on your hands for sleep as that will happen a few hours afterward.

I tried this last night. Thanks! It certainly knocked me out. I know I slept last night instead of coughing.

Your very welcome. This is just an old folks remedy I learned from my family. Its cheaper than going out and getting medicine (Especially if you already have the fixins in the house) And you already know the side effects!!! This also helps in the winter if you have the flu or some other type of chest cold with congestion. I am glad to have helped, you feel better now!!!

I gargle with salt and warm water. If that does not work and you have had it for a long time you might want to try taking a claritin pill for allergies. This turned out to be something that happened to my mother and I. My mom actually takes a pill everyday for a persistant cough. I take one only sometimes. I hope this helps you!
