To put things simple it is "getting to know each other" stage. You try to find out things about him or her. Hopefully there is chemistry between each other leading to a more "serious" relationship. Just my two cents.

Well on a personal note, dating must be intellectually instimulating.. Thats stage where both individuals get to know each other, share views and opinions with everything in general. Basically all talks, communication is very important cause if it'll be all flirty stuffs, i don't think it'll work out for both. (",)

Dating to me is going out with someone or people you are interested in. It could be someone you meet and invited you to go out to eat, or a movie or something nice. It is simply getting out and meeting new people. I have not dated in a long time due to my past break-up and I am a very busy person, with school, work, my child, church, and etc. I really do not have time to go out and date. Dating is getting to know one another, by spending quality time together and having fun. A date can be a home cooked meal at your house with someone of interest or watching movies. There can be a travel date, like going to the beach, hiking, going out of state or the country or simply to the park. There are many different things you can do on a date.
