hi karen! My family (both parents) are from Zamboanga. I was born and raised there until I was 5 years old. Then we moved to Manila. But even if we live in Manila now (for almost 20 years), we still speak Chavacano at home. Even my younger brother knows how to speak it (he left Zamboanga when he was just 1 y/o.) =)

Yes, we still go back home every so often. Last time we went home was last year for a week. We took the Cebu Pacific promo (Piso fare). Going home is quite expensive so I'm really grateful to Cebu Pacific for having those promos. We can see our relatives more than we did before.

yeah, same here! I'm so glad that they've back their prices down a bit. PAL's doing it too. But I still don't get to go home since I can't take a leave any time. I only get to go home in Dec. tsk!

I'm from Zamboanga when I was in grade school and now I'm in manila. I know how to speak cebuano aka bisaya as well as tausug. I can understand Chavacano, but speaking the language is really quite difficult for me. I don't know why. So I hope we'll meet soon -thanks by "batman"
