I have read the first 2 books in the Wheel of Time series. I'm just wondering if it is worth it to read the other 9 (!!) and whatever is coming out in the future. This would be a lot of reading and I want to make sure it is worth it.

Personally i think its worth the read although Robert Jordan (James Oliver Rigney, Jr) sadly passed away in September before completing the final book "A Memory of Light", It is still scheduled to be release in 2009 using his notes as guidance.

Glad to hear this info, I was recommended to read Robert Jordan by a friend and have bought the first two, but I also wondered about finishing the whole series as I heard he was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Maybe I will go back and read his Wheel of Time, since I know there will be an ending. I was not sure if I could have faced so many hours of fantastic reading, knowing there might not be a satisfactory conclusion.

A friend suggested this book to me. I have read 3 books so far. Story is nice. But for the mean time I stopped looking for the rest of the books. I wanted to know what happened to the story. One thing I just don't like are the paragraphs of dress descriptions or character descriptions. The first book I have read it all. But then in 2nd and 3rd... I started the descriptions and focus more on the story. Wether to continue reading or not its up to you if you're interested with the story. I want to know the ending so I'm going to finish it. Well I have ask what happened to them after book3 but their answer didn't suffice me. :)

If you enjoyed the first two books than it is definatly worth the read to finish the series. This is one of the best series I've ever come across. I now own all of them but the last one. I've read and reread the entire series plenty of times. I was surprised to find myself getting all teary eyed on the day I went into my local bookstore to see about the last book and was told by the lady who works there that Robert Jordan had passed away.

I would think that you would have to make that determination for yourself. If it's interesting to you and you want to know more, read them. If you're bored and don't care how they turn out, quit reading.

I suppose it all depends on if you enjoyed the first two that you read. As for me, I couldn't put them down, and was too eager to get the next one. I am anxiously waiting for the next to come out that he is working on. All I can say to you is that I believe that they are very worth reading.

What I like best about the series is that I'm reading it for a third time and I keep finding and realizing new things. There is so much detail that you cant even grasp it all the first read through. I found this series mesmerizing, thought the passing of R.J. puts a damper on the last novel. Apparently, he had notes and I heard the new author is a good writer and will do the series justice. I just can't wait to see the series resolved. It is one of the best I have ever read and definitely worth reading!

It is definitely worth it. I could hardly put them down. If you like these, Terry Goodkinds series "Sword of Truth" is another really good one.
