I have a wallpaper changing program (you can set it to change your wallpaper at whatever interval you like, although I mainly use it because I like its options for resizing pictures without having to save copies of them at different sizes), and I just use pictures, but some of the pictures were created with 3D modeling programs. Do you just mean a 3D wallpaper in that sense, or do you mean something animated?

If all you're referring to is a computer generated 3D image that doesn't animate or anything like that (just a 3D picture, that's all), it shouldn't slow down your computer. It's no different than a landscape photo or whatever kind of wallpaper you have. A still picture is just a still picture, whether it appears to look 3D or not. It wouldn't even necessarily be a bigger file.

ya, i used to have a 3-d wallpaper, but then i realised that it was slowing down my laptop.
so i got rid of it and now use only 2-d wallpapers.

I've messed with some neat-looking 3D wallpapers before, but yes, they slow my machine down. I just use a picture that I got in an e-mail from a friend once. I don't know if it's in the mountains somewhere, or just some sort of canyon, but it's pretty. Here it is:

I am not using any wallpaper because my computer is so slow, then I don't want that my computer freeze, I would like to install a cute wallpaper 3D about the movie matrix but I will need to get a good computer, I have seen in some friend's computer and they are really great, they have very realistic effects, I am really sad because I can install them in my computer, but if I get enough money I will install, I think the more popular wallpaper are about movies, or girls, anyway, I will give to a try.
