What is everyone's opinion on the Michael Barrett trade?

Yeah I can't believe it. Almost started yelling at work when I found out. How could they? Obviously their loss. Michael is the best catcher in MLB. So what are you opinions?

Trading Barrett wasn't a good move for the Cubs. They say they got rid of him because of his defensive struggles, but it is really because he has gotten into several fights with pitchers.

yeah I agree, its got to be hard having to worry who would be next. Fresh start is probably what he needs. I don't agree with the Rich Hill fight. Didn't look like much of a fight to me. Even Hill said the same thing, they were just discussing a pitch. Didn't look like flames were going there.

If you think that the Michael Barret trade is stupid for the cubs, than I think your stupid. In a team where you play over a hundred some games together, that is a lot of time to be with each other. You must get rid of the drama. If pitchers are having problems with him then he needs to go. All our elite pitchers do not want him catching for him. O.k. even Prior and Wood in there prime didn't want him. Even Greg Maddux who is a great hall of fame pitcher didn't want him. Plain and simple if your manager doesn't want him, it's for a reason and the sooner you get him out, the better. The cubs are still alive in their division and did the right thing.

okay fine, that's your opinion, but you don't have to start name calling. Not needed. I just didn't agree with the trade, I think Michael is one of the best catchers in the ML, losing him was just going to be hard on the Cubs. I'm not saying that they're not going to get any better or anything. I just think he was a good asset for them. And you're right, a new start may be just what he needs.

I love Michael Barrett too, but have been thinking lately "who is the next team mate he will get in a fight with?" Don't even get me started on last year when he punched that Sox guy for no reason. I understand that there are always two sides to every story, but he has been involved in 3 fights/disagreements in a short time.
He is an amazing player, but he deserves a fresh start with a new team and I wish him the best of luck. He looked so sad at the press conference though.

Yes he did, just wasn't himself. Man, I'm going to miss him on the Cubs. And living in a Cubs fan household, there's no way I could just watch him on the Padre's, unless of course their playing the Cubs...I guess I'll just have to keep up on the Sports News!

Yeah drummell I agree. Barrett should not have been the one to go. They should have gotten rid of that hothead Zambrano, or is it Nozambraino? He's already been at it again and tried to loose his pants this time. He is gonna loose it one day and go ape poo on somebody and that will be it.
Barrettt and Pierwhateversky last year was who knows. His manager says when he is on the other team you hate him. When he is on your team you hate him a little less.
But what the hell? I hate the Cubs, I hated Harry Carey with a passion and every Cubs fan I have known personally was a jerk. I hope they never win another game

I think the cubs are complete MORONS for this. It should have been Z that should have been traded. Well Cubs Fans, hope you weren't planning on going to the WS anytime this century.
