I love you
Ek het jou lief
Volim te
Jeg Elsker Dig
Mahal kita
Je t'aime
Ich liebe dich
Ya tebya liubliu
What do the above 8 phrases have in common? Well, they all mean "I love you", just in different languages. Respectively, the expression is in English, Afrikaans, Croatian, Danish, Filipino, French, German and Russian.
If you want to confuse yet excite your loved ones, check out how to say "I love you" in 100 languages at http://www.links2love.com/i_love_you_languages.htm . ;-)
So, how often do you say I LOVE YOU? Do you even say I LOVE YOU?
I confess that I am like a mouth-less rock when it comes to this timeless phrase. It is easy (-ier) to say I LOVE YOU online but when it comes to offline... hmm... it eludes me. I find it hard to express my loving tenderness. I just can't bring myself to say it. :P
What about you? Do you say I LOVE YOU? Do share your thoughts, and any of your loving stories. ;-)

Yea, that's the sound of I LOVE YOU in Mandarin.
The spelling is definitely different because you can't type Mandarin using English letters.
Here's what wo i nie (ni) looks like in Mandarin/Chinese:

Not very often my friend, I have no one to say I love you to! I say it to my mum and she returns it when we speak on the phone or text, mummy wolf looks after her little cub! This little cub will never find another cub to love and there is no other cub out there so wolves don't believe in love!

Yes, I say "I love you"...to my family members. :P I usually say it in the English language. Though sometimes I say it in American sign language. ;)
So wiz, are all these phrases in order with the languages? Just asking as I'd love to say this to my mom in the Filipino language.

heh heh... I only know three ways of saying the phrase I LOVE YOU.
I LOVE YOU!
Saya cinta juga kamu!
Wo Ai Ni!
Usually, I will show my wife how much I love her rather than just mouthing the words.
Cooking her favorite meal.
Soothing her aching shoulders after a hard day's work.
Watching a nice show together... etc etc
And she does likewise.
I do tell her I love her once in a while, out of the blue. And she appreciates it.

I know it's very very common for westener to say "i love u" to their friends and family. But in our society, most of the kids are shy and are not in ease to express love by saying "I Love You". Anyway, i don't feel it really matters, because we shows love by actions and Action speaks louder than Words.
My bf doesn't say "i love u" very often too. However, i do feel his love by other way.

Well I say "te amo" - comes from living with a native Spanish speaker:-)) We always speak Spanish at home! As to how often I say it - at least every day - it is always the last thing we say to each other before we go to sleep at night. Oh - and I say it to the cats too:-))

I tell my wife and son that love them.
My parents know how much I care for them but sometimes I'll still say it.
Geez, it seems like more than 4 years ago that I met cheeky but it didn't take long for me to know she was the one. (unlike some who just say it) I felt a close bound even from distance and when I first saw her.. (that was my moment)
I actually met her again online :)
(previously met at school event, when a load of schools in our local cities came to army base fun day)

Everytime I talk to my family the converstion ends with I love you. In English! But I can say in also in several languages. My children said that when they were growing up that whenever they left the house the last thing I always said was "I love you" and it stuck in their heads often times keeping them from doing something that was questionable!

I often say I love you, especially to my significant other. I grew up always hearing it, especially when getting off the phone with family members or before leaving the house or going to bed. I am one of those that wears my heart on my sleeves anyhow, but I think it is important to let those you know that you love them. You never know when it may be the last time that you will see or speak to them, and you don't want to have any remorse about the last thing you may have said. Plus, sometimes people just need to hear it, someone may be a little depressed or be having a bad day, and sometimes just those three little words can make all the difference.

Yes, I do say "I LOVE YOU" all the time to my parents, my brothers and sister and to my husband. Oh... even to my pets. :) I just want the people close to my heart know that I love them always. Saying "I LOVE YOU" is easy once you actually start saying it to the people whom you love sincerely. :)

That's why some people observed that it is better to be an animal than a human. Some pets lead better lives than humans today. :P

I was raised with a Mother that never said those three little words, EVER, it made both my sister and I want to say it all the time to our family, which we do more than the usual. Although sometimes when you say something more than often with people you know, this is one saying that people do not grow tired of, at least I know I never do.

Nope, never did feel it either. It is sad growing up in a house where love is not shown or told that is why I feel it is essential for my children and my loved ones (significant others) to be very vocal about my love and devotion to them!

He he ...!! In my case inspite being a girl I don't like saying "I Love you" that much .....my boyfriend used to compel me a lot to hear I love you from my mouth....!! :P
Actually the thing is I like showing my love not saying it..!!
I like showing it with some suprises or gifts some visits to him and spending my time with him.
But not saying I love you always ...May be I'll say it 3-4 times in a month..!! :P Not more than that. Not because I am a very shy person or something like that but because I don't like telling things verbaly I love showing my love...!! :)
he he thats me!!

I always tell my close friends and of course my family that I love them all the time, and I mean it too, they are the most important things in my life.
As for other times, I think one of the best times I said I love you to my former fiancee...I made her a chanpagne breakfast as it was her 18th birthday (I was 18 also) and had this gizmo that you pushed gently into the bread so when it toasted it said "I Love You" and the each letter "o" was heart shaped.

All the time. I say I Love You to my husband and son everyday, even when I talk with my parents and siblings, we always end our conversations with "love you", "love lots" or something to that affect. In Samoan "alofa atu oe" means I Love You.
